You need to take a good hard look at yourself. To blame such a tragedy on a particular family truly shows your ignorance and immaturity. Go out in the real world...better yet join the ARMY and learn the values of brotherhood and discipline in which our generation lacks, a confession I am willing to make. I knew Kevin and send my deepest condolences to his family. I am currently a VA Tech freshman and a Cadet in the Corp of Cadets, an institution where everybody cares for each other and interacts face to face in professional manner. You know the men and women on the same floor as you like they were your brother and sister, the very compassion our society lacks today. In the corp, We are costantly aware of our surroundings (no ipod in our ears) and know exactly who is unaccounted for, in military words, its called situational awareness which only comes from extreme discipline in the importance of values like duty and honor, service and sacrifice, loyalty and leadership, and brotherhood (love thy neighbor). So, take a good hard look at yourself and ask yourself "would I stop to see if somebody was ok if she or he looked very distraught?" Going to college with a campus of 24,000 students, I never saw Kevin, but find it hard to believe that nobody saw the signs. Its a tragedy on itself that people were oblivious to someone who was deeply troubled. In army,there is a phrase in reaction to people like you, "Get over yourself." Stop playing the blaming game. Maybe VA RUN has a bad reputation from the lack of maturity of its younger adults. Join the Army, you could use the discipline.
