VRE's Manassas trains canceled

WASHINGTON -- Virginia Railway Express riders who use the Manassas line trains may want to find another way to work Wednesday.
A train struck a man around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. The man has died, Fairfax County police say.
Virginia Railway Express canceled all morning Manassas line trains. It plans to run on an "S" schedule for Manassas line Wednesday evening.
VRE recommends riders use Metro in the morning.
Dave Hansel, a passenger on the train that struck the person, tells WTOP the accident occurred about 2 miles shy of Burke, Va.
VRE says the passengers will remain on the train.

My questions for you:
1. Why do people keep getting hit by trains?
2. Do people not understand that the trains only drive on the tracks?
3. Do people understand that if you don't walk on the tracks you won't get hit by the trains?
4. Have trains started driving off the tracks and are now roaming the neighborhooded subdivisions?
5. Is this rocket science?
