Big accident in front of NVCC last night

Last night, route 7 westbound was shut down in front of NVCC Sterling for hours. During rush hour traffic was backed up all the way to the horizon. Po-po was everywhere and there was a news copter hovering overhead.

Does anyone know what happened? I can't find any news stories about it.

I heard there was an accident at that intersection, but no other details. It's not the best place to cross through as those students try to race through the light, even when its red!

By reading your post and deducing the evidence in said post I came to two conclusions to your question.

1. Sounds like a vehicular accident.
2. YOU ARE A FUCKING MORON IF YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT.....ROAD IS SHUT DOWN, TRAFFIC IS BACKED-UP, PO PO AND HELICOPTER ON SCENE........HMMMMMMM!

A local contractor is hiring illegals and then shutting down roads to avoid paying them.

Did I do that right?

I believe there were helicopters as well, giving much relief to those tin-foil conspiracy theorists in Chantilly.

Couple of probable illegal-types in a Civic that didn't belong to them were involved in a wreck with a Pontiac at Potomac View Rd/Cascades Pkwy. They got out and ran away. The driver got creamed by a Honda Pilot while running across Rt 7. Likely heading back to Sugarland which is where the registered address of the Civic is.

Wasn't until about 10pm that the FD was able to come back and wash away his blood and whatever else spilled out.

Update: Pedestrian Killed On Rt. 7 Fled Earlier Accident
http://www.leesburgtoday.com/news/update-pedestrian-killed-on-rt-fled-earlier-accident/article_014fa7be-9975-11e3-a2c6-0019bb2963f4.html

A man was hit by a car and killed on Rt. 7 in Sterling last night, allegedly as he and another man attempted to flee the scene of a crash nearby.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the man, whose name has not yet been released pending family notification, was a passenger in a car that was involved in a crash at Potomac View Road and Cascades Parkway around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies responded to the scene of the first crash, which involved a Pontiac Grand Prix and a Honda Civic. No one was inside the Honda, and deputies saw two sets of footprints leaving the scene.

Deputies searched the area and called in a K-9 unit to assist, but the driver and passenger were not found. The owner of the Honda was located at home and had not been involved in the crash.

Then, just before 6:30 p.m. a second accident was reported in the area of Rt. 7 and Campus Drive, near the Northern Virginia Community College campus. A 41-year-old Ashburn man driving a Honda Pilot in the center westbound lane hit a man who was attempting to cross Rt. 7 from the south. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office said multiple witnesses on the scene confirmed that the driver was proceeding on a green light. No charges are expected against him.

During the investigation, the sheriff’s office determined that both the victim and another man were in the travel lanes of Rt. 7 at the time of the accident, and were able to connect the victim to the earlier crash.

The second man fled the scene of the second accident without stopping and was last seen running toward the NVCC campus.

Potomac View and Cascades Parkway never intersect. How tough could it be to report the first wreck on Rte. 7 east/west of either of those roads?

Young drivers and an excruciatingly long light make for a bad catalyst.
