An overpass at 286 & Popes Head! Looks pretty likely to happen in the not-so-distant future:

It says the list is the highlights but taking out the light and left turn at Burke Center Pkwy/286 and building an interchange at Braddock/123 would be nice, too.

agreed! Not sure why Pope's Head took preference. It's nasty during rush hour and causes backup, but the ones you mention are worse in my experience.

Makes sense to me because it extends the Freeway portion from Rt.50 (which they did terrible job redoing) to Burke Center Parkway by another 2-3 miles?

Too much property at the intersection including George Mason's. GM is pretty stingy when it comes to giving up land for local transportation projects.

I know, I went there when VDOT was trying to get Braddock widened--all the whining about losing the tree buffer--which happened anyway when Va Power upgraded the transmission lines. If only Braddock was elevated from before 123 to just past Sideburn with surface access roads for GMU and University Mall (like Franconia Road at Springfield Mall)...
