Because nothing honors 9/11 like blocking roads on 8/15.

What?

LOL. These monkeys are honoring 9/11 by attracting attention to themselves.

Yeah. :-)

I've participated in a couple of 9/11 rides, but the ones I've attended had the decency to hold the rally on the weekend closest to the 11th rather than on a fucking weekday. And the last one didn't even have police escort, no roads or lanes were blocked off so you had a thousands of bikes merging onto 28 and the toll road in traffic with traffic trying to exit off of the roads and into the lines of bikes. So guess who isn't going to be participating in this year's 9/11 death ride from hell?

This group is just fucking stupid though...yeah lets hold a small rally (tiny in comparison to the other rallys held her throughout the year) and block off roads and take up lanes on major highways not just on a weekday, but on a FUCKING FRIDAY BITCHES! 9/11!! w00000000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a motorcyclist for over 40 years , I have had it with these self -appointed retards disrupting the allready completely congested situation for yet another attempt to draw attention to themselves. Pissing off the general public yet again does not generate the feelings that any show of respect should. Im sure that
HOMO- Cycle group the WNC will figure prominently in this event, once again at the expense of the reputation of the majority of motorcyclists . It may be time to consider legislation to prohibit such attention-whore festivals .

Going to have to agree with the posts here. What makes a motorcycle run so freaking special that they have shut down roads so these guys can ride uninhibited?

What if the local Honda Civic racing crew wants to get together and let their coffee can mufflers sing to the heavens in the name of 9/11? Can we shut down some roads for them too?

What time does everyone go to work? Maybe we can get a police escort to Arlington or DC if we just pick the right cause to put our daily drive under. My daily POW/MIA commute.

To avoid flaming, I am not saying 9/11 or POW/MIA aren't good causes, I just think there are probably other ways to support the cause that don't involve motorcycles and the use of out police resources to close roads.

You really have it out the this WNC. What happen, no body would ride with you or is it, you think you are better than them because your new job and the money you make? I don't get it. Everytime you post, you say something about that group. And every time a motorcycle starts, is that the WNC? just wondering.

What a bunch of crybabies.

This ride was established 8 weeks after 9/11. The foundation works very hard to raise money for the fallen (police, fire, EMS, military). The ride is spread out over a few days going from Shanksville to the Pentagon and then the Pentagon to New York City.

Due to the services that take place in New York surrounding 9/11, it has been done in August at the request of the City always. It involves a trip to Ground Zero.

The police officer's that participate are authorized the use of their motorcycles to assist the large group with safe passage along the way. The officer's are not paid just provided support from their agencies.

Apparently you all need to REMEMBER the cause and not focus so much on yourselves for the brief time period that you are inconvienced. How about you educate yourselves by going to this website and finding a way to help not complain. http://www.americas911ride.org/

And please, don't tie the WNC to this event. There are numerous police officers, firefighters and soldiers that make up this awesome ride.

So NYC tells you to stay the hell out during 9/11 because you'll cause too much commotion. What a surprise. I can just hear the discussion now:

"Look, 'riders'. If you insist on causing chaos in our city to attract attention to yourselves, please do it in August or something. Many of us will be on vacation, so we could give a shit."

Got it. :-)

This is really a 9-1-1 ride, not a 9/11 ride. They raise money for fire, police, emt -- Almost none of the money they raise has gone to victims of 9/11. Donating a motorcycle to the Pittsburgh Police Dept? Total misrepresentation.

Craig S Campen is not the founder of this group , his only job is to organise riders that want to participate. He does not have leadership skills , he is a follower. He could not lead a million flies onto a pile of shit...
