Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Well anything under 32 degrees can technically kill, but under 0 is when one should really be concerned. I think it's safe to safe the average temp for Fairfax is probably around 20 right now.
Back in my day we used to walk six miles to school in weather colder than this with ruddy shoes and wool jackets. We would take a sip of bourbon along the way to keep us warm. School would never close and people didn't go inside and hide at the first sign of cold weather.

Uphill, both ways. When it got really cold, we carried a hot coal in our mouths to keep warm. And we LIKED it.

You had coal? Wimp! When it got cold, we would cut open a live buffalo and climb inside it to stay warm.
If you can, keep drinking hot tea/cocoa/coffee/whatever you've got, put a throw blanket on you, and look at youtube videos of tropical places and think warm thoughts....
