RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control officials have charged a Falls Church-area woman with illegally selling beer and food from her home without a license.

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control says agents recently served a search warrant on the home of 44-year-old Ruth Guadalupe Zurita following a six-month investigation.

Agents found two banquet-style folding tables in the living room and additional seating and a temporary kitchen on the back deck.

While there, agents purchased food, soda and alcoholic beverages and witnessed 12 patrons in the home.

Zurita is charged with two misdemeanor counts of selling alcoholic beverages without a license and one count of maintaining, aiding, abetting or knowingly associating with others in maintaining a common nuisance.

Zurita is free on bond. It wasn't immediately known whether she had an attorney.

Ruth's Mexican Fiesta in Falls Church is a casual "South-of-the-Border" eatery. l

You will find appetizers ranging from super nachos to jalapeno peppers; fajita, taco, avocado and tossed salads; house entrees including burrito supreme and burrito deluxe, tamales and chimichungas; and dinner platters, which are served with Mexican rice and refried beans. For dessert, try Mexican fried ice cream, Buenelos or their chocolate nut brownie.

Enjoy a cold beverage with your meal and enjoy yourself in our comfortable atmosphere!

Here's what a reviewer had to say: "Best Margaritas in town as far as I'm concerned. The decor is fun and cheerful. The staff is wonderful; friendly AND efficient! The food is good and plentiful, and the prices reasonable. The menu has enough variety to satisfy anyone, including my kids who are pretty picky. What more could you ask for?!"

What's the big deal? This is how they roll in El Salvador and Panama. Since NOVA is quickly becoming Central America, I think we need to change this unfair laws and celebrate the "Out of Towners" for their innovative ideas to make NOVA a bigger shit hole than it already is!

Good for ABC, put a stop to this before they start driving drunk because I am sure as long as the "customers" had money they had a beer from Senora Ruth.

There are a lot of these type of operations in PG county. Good thing VA takes it seriously.

In all reality who gives a shit. Big fucking deal, some spic was serving food to other spics. I bet her food was 10X better then most Mexican shithole restaurants. I see no reason to regulate bullshit like this and investigate it for 6 months. If a person down the street was selling steaks for 15 bucks and they were good I'd eat at his/her house and would not think twice about it. It's not like she had a big fucking neon sign out front or tricked people into eating at a unestablished restaurant on rt7.

What the fuck kind of charge is aiding, abetting or knowingly associating with others in maintaining a common nuisance? Sounds like a bullshit charge investigator had to dig real deep between their cheeks to find that on.

Don't get me wrong, I would like to see every taco bender shipped back to their place of birth but there are bigger issues than some old woman serving slop out of her house.

Not a problem unless she opens a place in your neighborhood. If I wanted to live next to a full blown restaurant with booze being served I would move downtown. That is why I put up with an HOA, this crap never would have gotten off the ground in most places with an HOA.

Probably not to the people who have to live next door to that mess.

I don't care how they did it south of the border. I bought in a residential area for a reason. I do not want to live next to a restaurant, an auto repair shop or a flea market.

Her neighborhood is in central America also known as lowmans plaza. Someone who is moving into my neighborhood would not need to sell tacos out of their house to make a living and spics could never afford it. The days of no Doc loans are over with. Pulling the what about your neighborhood does not fly in my situation.

This doesn't make sense.

ABC goons show up at the house with a SEARCH WARRANT and she sells them "food, soda, and alcoholic beverages"?????

Even if they were hispanic ABC agents, I would think that the search warrant would have tipped her off that something wasn't quite right with these particular "customers".

Keep dreaming, My friend lives in Fairfax and there is a McMansion in his neighborhood with fifteen cars out front of it minimum. Swarms of people coming and going at all hours. Its obvious from all the folks moving in and out it is being used as a hotel. County tax records list it assessed at over one million. Money wont give you a guarantee of no problems.
