Copper Canyon Grill -Centreville???

Does anyone know what the hell has happened to Copper Canyon Grill in Centreville??? They never gave any kind of notice of a date they were going to be closing or for how long. They have a sign on the door that says "Closed for renovations." They really need a bigger sign that you can see from the parking lot. I pass by that area every day and there are NEVER any kind of trucks etc to possibly be doing any kind of work in there. Someone on yelp said the staff was given a three hour notice before closing.

"Closed for Renovations" usually means "We went broke"

If it says renovations and you do not see anything going on they are closed for good. No decent restaurant can close for even a few weeks without taking a killer hit in the pocketbook.

I only ate there a few times. Prices were too high for what it was. The food was OK to good but not great. I would rather eat at Sweet Water.

I really hate dining in which is the only reason I haven't tried Sweet Water even though all of their food sounds delicious. I might have to give in one of these days. I've been told I could always order at the bar and ask for a box...I wonder if that is frowned upon there.

Only went one time and service and food sucked. Doubt they can last long with high prices and poor service.

If someone is going to renovate they start the next day after they close the doors.

Their other location in Silver Spring is still open. Probably shut down Centreville because it's nothing but illegal immigrants in that area anymore.

No great loss. The place had great ambiance but the food never did much for me.

This is an absolute outrage. I'm thinking class action lawsuit if we can band together to stand up to this owner.

I've been a few times and thought their food was actually pretty good. It can be a bit pricey, but nothing too out of the ordinary for this area.

I hope they are just closed for renovations - although, I really didn't think any were needed.

I think their menu price is high and the menu is weak. /sweet water, Mike grill, Cheese cake factory are way better.

Cheesecake Factory? Really? I guess if you like over priced premade food that is microwaved in back its okay. They do give you a lot of food, I'll give you that. Some of their desserts are okay.

Ha I used to work there when it was "Red Rock Canyon" -- they were sticklers for upselling. Hated it.

My husband and I have enjoyed every single dinner at Copper Canyon, so I'm sorry to see not everyone else has enjoyed it as much. We have always had wonderful service except for one occasion, which was actually the fault of the table behind us rather than the server (we could hear/see the whole thing, guy was a jerk). We were disappointed to see Centreville was closed and were seeing so many rumors online, so I called one of the locations in Maryland who also said they were closed for renovations and they couldn't give a timeline on when to expect it to reopen. Is there anyone who may have a solid idea of what's going on? Someone has to be friends with a server or bartender!

I've passed this location several times lately and it definitely looks down for the count. The bar stools are stacked up on the bar, very low lighting inside, but the fans on the porch are still running!

I know someone who worked there and they are closed for good. There wasn't enough business. All staff members were sent to surrounding locations.
