There is a veg restaurant called "lotus" in Chantilly, VA. It is an amazing restaurant with a huge (mostly vegan) menu. I eat there at least once a month. Fab!

There is also the Loving Hut on Rogers Ln, right off 29/Lee Hwy inside the Beltway. They are vegan and they have a really good fresh kale dish. They also have yummy vegan desserts and pastries.

Thanks.

sunflower is pretty good - they have a lot of vegan stuff but there's a good bit of salt & oil. the counter burger in reston has a great veg burger. elevation burger is ok too. i have young kids so heading into dc for the fancy brunch (now at equinox) isn't really workable.

When you go to someone's house for dinner, do you ask them to cook vegan for you? And do you cook meat for non-pussies when they come to your house?

seriously, these vegans are super obnoxious about enforcing their beliefs on others. there was one in Santini's a few weeks ago really giving the person behind the counter a hard time, yelling that he wanted "a macrobiotic hoagie", chick behind the counter looked totally dumbfounded. go eat somewhere else if you can't handle normal food.

sunflower's good but I agree with that salt & oil comment, just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's healthy or low calorie. I went with coworkers last summer, I forget what I had but it was like breaded deep-fried dumplings stuffed with ground vegetables and covered with some kind of thick gravy. it was good, but christ that was probably the most unhealthy meal I ate all year. there's no way vegans can eat that kind of stuff regularly without being the size of a house.

veg General Tao's chicken is awesome.

Hunting/fishing and small farm husbandry are the only ethical sources of harvesting animal protein - the rest is all just meat from animal concentration camps...

Watch these if you think eating factory farmed meat is a great thing - its not. Hunting is fine with me as is small farm ethically raised livestock. We were meant to eat other animals but the way animals are processed today its just not worth eating the shitty quality meat raised in filth.
