What is there to do in FFC for the kids???

Say ages 3-12. Teens have the internet and their ipads/phones/whatever.

We go to chuck e cheese a lot and are tired of the mouse. We do play all sports as much as possible outside at the park and swim. Been to all the museums/zoos/aquariums in the DC metro. What else is there?

Park Authority has 5 water parks for summer. Caverns out towards front royal, Skyline and Luray. Manassas Battlefield, Skyline Drive, Occoquan Park. Mt Vernon. Just taking the metro for a ride can be fun. You also have 6 Flags, Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens, a little further away but less than 2 hours. So Many possibilities. Burke Lake Park has the Train, Mini Golf, Carousel. There are a few other parks like that I think Centreville and Braddock Rd Park.

StorybookLand is way fun:

And Virginia City is a trip if you're into western scenes and shoot-em-ups:

Have to admit they're both rather hard to get to here locally, but fun when you do get there!

Hard to imagine anyone's done all the museums. How about bike rides (WO&D or Mt Vernon trail), nature hikes (Great Falls, Accotink, etc), mini-golf, day trips to Baltimore, harpers Ferry, Shenandoah, fossil hunting at Calvert Cliffs, planting green stuff, kids' theaters, bowling, picnics, kite-flying... How could anyone ever get bored?

How about putting those little fuckers to work. Mowing, edging, raking leaves?
Show them the virtues of a hard days labor.

On a related topic, what is the coolest playground in the area? Is it the Chlamydia Park in McLean (or whatever it's screwed up name is)?

FFX County has an extensive network of parks, nature centers, biking/hiking trails, and (May-Oct) farmers markets. Go outside and take advantage!

Chlamydia Park is located on Georgetown Pike in McLean. Its about 1/2 mile or so past Langley HS on the right hand side of the road. Its not specifically for special need kids.....very cool park.
