Early Exit Poll Results Showing Democrats Sweeping Elections
Posted by: This Just In ()

The early exit polls are showing democrats in Virginia sweeping the election in Northern Virginia, Richmond and Tidewater.

Sarvis is getting a lot of republicans votes. I find that funny.

Not good news for republicans in the 2016 presidential elections. Hello Hillary.

I find it logical when one looks at the collection of extremists and loons that the republicans have put up for election. FRIGHTENING.

That's because republican leaders in Richmond and Tidewater didn't get along with Cuccinelli's religious agenda and endorsed McAuliffe.

"Cuccinelli’s strident conservatism helped him win the Republican nomination but has spawned insurrection among fellow partisans. In September, Republican Mayor Will Sessoms of Virginia Beach endorsed McAuliffe, and the reliably Republican Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial board issued a non-endorsement."

Early exit polls? From the five people who showed up? Not an expert on polling techniques but I'd think you would need a decent sized pool of voters to draw meaningful conclusions. And in our precinct at least the numbers of voters has been relatively small.

Even if you agree with Exactly's assessment, and many do, then please still turn out and vote. The message that the parties will get from you staying home is not the one you are hoping to send. They'll assume you stayed home because you were ignorant or lazy, that their negative advertising worked, or that you don't care about state or local politics.

The best way to send a message to the major parties that they need to do better is to have a high turnout with large numbers of third party votes or no-votes for governor, and for the winning candidate to pull around 45% of the vote. With that kind of result neither party can use the "we failed to energize our base" argument or the "we had a weak candidate" argument, and there is no way the winner could claim a mandate.

Hillary may be the candidate, but more likely not. Whoever it is will have to beat Chris Christie which may not be easy. Of course, he might as well be a Democrat and won't be able to abide or work with these whackjob TEA Party Republicans either, so we could end up with a bipartisan government comprised of a Republican President and a Democratic Congress teaming up to stomp on all the right-wing assholes. You could see the Norquist/Scaife/Koch brothers extermist wing forced out and pushed into the Libertarian fringe, with a new party emnerging made up of Republican moderates and Blue Dog Democrats. Government of, by and for liberal moderates and conservative moderates. The way it used to be back before Reagan.

We can only hope. Chris Christie used to be a Tea Party darling for a short time because they thought he was taking on the unions to be spiteful little shit and stick it them as the teabaggers wanted, when instead he understood the current pension system in NJ was unsustainable and had to be rectified to something more reasonable and keep the state solvent. He then really blew it with RWNJ when he demonstrated a can-do attitude to help the people of his state during Hurricane Sandy including reaching out to whoever could help including Democrats. The man has demonstrated the chops of governing.

Report:

Fairfax county is experiencing similar voter turnout to the 2012 election, meaning a much higher turnout than usually expected in off-year elections. "About 600 voters had come through the Chain Bridge precinct by 10:30 a.m., about the same as last year, said David Lynn Rampy, chief election officer at the precinct."

"Shortly before noon at the Langley precinct, chief election officer Amanda Romana Bridges said they had seen about 500 voters, similar to last year." (The Washington Post)

The county is currently expecting a 30 percent voter turnout by the time the polls close at 7 p.m. today.

Christie is a blood sucking, opportunistic leach. It's easy to see that he was a tea party darling, he sports all of the characteristics, myopically self centered and self absorbed, self important, tells others to sit down and shut the hell up. Yeah, he tore a chapter or two right out of the Dick Cheney school of governing.

What an asshole.
