Fairfax Man Sentenced to 78 Months in Prison for Assaulting Federal Officers
Jay Bonanza Briley, 52, assaulted officers at Daingerfield Island after officers observed him naked and engaging in a public sexual act in his car.

Jay Bonanza Briley, 52, of Fairfax, Virginia, was sentenced to 78 months in prison Tuesday followed by three years of supervised release, for assaulting, resisting, opposing, and impeding officers of the United States Park Police.
According to a recent news release from the FBI, United States Park Police officers observed Briley naked and engaging in a public sexual act in the front seat of a vehicle parked at Daingerfield Island, near the Washington Sailing Marina in January 2012. When officers approached Briley while he was sitting in his vehicle, he refused to exit the vehicle peacefully when officers identified themselves.
Briley assaulted one officer by kicking him in the stomach and resisted the other officers as they attempted to remove him from the vehicle and detain him. Briley also attempted to run away, dragging two officers for a few yards, after they were able to remove him from the vehicle, according to FBI officials.
Briley was found guilty on March 11 after a two-day jury trial.

Sure, Don't kick a cop. I get it. But a multi-year prison sentence for assault usually involves significant injuries to the victim. No injuries reported or implied.
This guy was naked and managed to "drag" these nice officers behind him. I'll let you figure out how that's possible, because I can't. This sounds like some sketchball doing sketchy things and the police doing a poor arrest-job (shocker).
Something seriously isn't right either with the way this story was reported or with the sentence for this crime.

The court record says one officer was almost fatally injured and another officer suffered a serious injury. I wonder why that was not reported? If true maybe the sentence was right or not tough enough? The news in this area, you can always expect a twist ( misreporting) lol!
