Hmm, off the top of my head, Pimmit Hills is a bit sketchy, certain areas of Falls Church (around Bowl America/ around Coleman Powersports), certain areas of Seven Corners

I probably define sketchy different than you...

Pimmit is a great place to buy right now, close to Tysons, about a third of the houses have been expanded. The lots are big.

Washington St in Falls Church: a few older red brick dupes and apartments, an aging commercial strip (ie used cars, Quarry/Budget Inn etc) Elevation Burger, a newer apartment house and nice quiet suburbia on the other sides.

7 Corners: the corridor itself is commercial and lower rent than Tysons or Old Town. All the big boxes, a lot of newer ethnic stuff. Good food from Vietnamese to Indian to Chinese to Thai to Pollo to Middle Eastern. Good areas off Sleepy Hollow and Barcroft. A few again apartment complexes that need to go and eventually will.

There are a few areas like Landmark, Herndon and Hybla Valley that are really ethnic or not prime because the commute to the money places is inconvenient. Some petty criminals, Section 8'ers and gangs, but not nearly as sketchy as some places elsewhere on the East Coast.

Try South Baltimore, Camden, New Jersey or Jerome Avenue in the Bronx.

Pimmit = white trash. But it's the perfect location. Which means that the homes will eventually be bought by developers, demolished, and replaced by McMansions - like a lot of Falls Church. Meanwhile, if you like trucks on blocks, you'll like Pimmit Hills.

In the early 90s, School Street in Fairfax was ghetto. I knew one kid at GMU who used to buy crack down there. In the 80s there was a sketchy trailer park in the Camp Washington area. I heard that in the 70s there was a sketchy complex on 236 near Prosperity Ave.

I've walked thru janna lee, sequoyah, mount vernon, woodlawn, all those supposedly ghetto areas of "the highway" day and night and not once did I feel unsafe. Sure there were a lot of non-white people milling about but no one did a thing or said a word to me...just nodded and kept doing them.

I've drank with the amigos in Culmore, they are very nice and do share their coronas! We traded coronas for blue moon and sam adams since they never tried it and they liked it! Shit I even split a 40 of schlitz with one of them one day as we swapped stories of how rough it is working in construction (back in the day) and where in the world we would go to get out of the US....he said not back to mexico but on to europe LOL

Been all up in the trailer park off waples mill...and besides a few methheads who just stay in their trailers and come out to beg you for a beer, a cig, or $2, they are harmless. I got my car fixed RIGHT and he only charged me $100 for a job that would have been $500 anywhere else! Still running today!

There is NOWHERE in ffx county I am scared of. Want the hood? Go to the bronx, NYC or south philly or something....the only thing that is scary is how most white ppl dont like anyone who is not white. THAT is the only fear. They ASSSUME ALL black/hispanic people of a lower income are bad. They are no worse then the people in WV- they are just "urban poor" instead of "country poor" but they are all POOR. And that's where the beef lies. It's more racisim and classism than true violence or anything around here. There of PLENTY of friendly people living in these lower income areas. But since you all assume they are all bad and don't even give them the time of day.....oh well. Rant over.

Pimmit Hills is being rebuilt house by house to be an extension of McLean. I live there and there have been 3 houses totally demolished and replaced by much, much bigger houses on my street in the last 6 months. My next door neighbors just sold and I am worried that the new buyers might want to do the same thing. It deserved its reputation in the past as the closest thing to a trailer park in the McLean area, but I doubt that it will stay that way much longer.

I give you that...notice how the actual lots are empty but the street parking is full in the middle of the day- only those on the lease can get a sticker and those needed to have real jobs with real paystubs to qualify and are at work LOL

South Baltimore is home to Federal Hill (yuppy central), the stadiums and their surrounding neigborhooods (yuppy central), and Canton (again, yuppy central). I feel far better in those places than most places in NOVA. You all don't really have Baltimore to kick around these days . . . Try again.

Well, now you're really showing your ignorance. Since ignorant people tend to be naive, and naive people tend to be stupid, and I have sympathy for the stupid...I'll just leave that one alone. Enjoy your subdivision in Applebee's-land. Peace.
