Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone was selling any decent used cars in the $5,000 range?

Hit up a local auto auction for a used Impala, police package. Tax, tags, and registration will probably cost you more than the vehicle itself. Spend the remainder of your $5000 on hookers and beer.

Buy a 2002 to 2004 Discovery. You'll have some repairs but nothing major other than a head gasket or a rear main seal every 15 mi.

try down 28, just past the ffx county line there are a ton of little buy here pay here places that have cars for <5k. Take a day to browse them all before deciding. The one I dealt with was ironically next to a title loan shop LOL but the carfax checked out.

This. Get a discovery, you can get them pretty cheap. One of the most reliable cars ever made, just change the oil every 10,000 - 15,000 and you are set.
