Obama uses thugs to close Mount Vernon: oops, it's a private enterprise
Posted by: Tray von Martin ()

More shannigans from the worst president ever. Anyone who has been there knows that it took them more effort to erect the barricades than to not show up for work. In fact, in all the times I've been there, I've never, ever seen any NPS staff in those parking lots. But now, with the shut down the all show up. Go figure.

The National Park Service erected barricades to shut down parking lots surrounding Mount Vernon despite the fact that the tourist destination is privately owned, another example of how the feds are deliberately worsening the government shut down.

Mount Vernon is the former plantation of George Washington and is owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, which doesn’t receive any government funding. The attraction’s official website reads, “NO SHUTDOWN HERE – The Federal government may be shut down, but Washington’s home remains open. Mount Vernon has remained a private non-profit for more than 150 years.”

However, a dispute began when the National Park Service began putting up barricades to block off the facility’s car park, blockading the entrance as well as a spot where tour buses turn around.

The parking lots are co-owned by Mount Vernon and the NPS, but require no immediate maintenance at all, meaning the decision to close them down was completely unnecessary.

The feds even blocked off a small area consisting of just three parking spaces.

After blogger Stephen Gutowski exposed the situation, Newt Gingrich got in on the act, tweeting, “The tour bus turnaround at Mount Vernon has been closed by federal police. This is deliberate effort by Obama to hurt the public. Disgusting.”

Numerous other sites around DC have been unnecessarily closed by the NPS and other federal agencies in what critics are labeling a cynical political stunt which only serves to punish the American people.

In some cases, efforts to shut down these sites actually require more manpower and resources than if they had been left open, highlighting the fact that this is an act of partisan theater by the Obama administration to pin the blame for the government shutdown on Republicans and opponents of Obamacare.

- Numerous hiking and biking trails throughout the greater DC region, despite requiring zero immediate maintenance or patrols, have been closed down. Irate citizens are merely flouting the law and using them anyway.

- The NPS has stationed officers along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal that runs 184 miles from Washington, D.C. to Cumberland, Maryland to make sure nobody uses the bike paths. It would have required less manpower to keep this trail open. The handles on all the well pumps have also been removed.

- The feds also shut down a tiny park in which children play on fake turtles, prompting angry mothers to remove the barriers, only to see them put back up. “The park is extremely small and sort of seems pointless to block off,” reports the Daily Caller.

- Lincoln Park in DC, which is known to be used by several Democratic Senators, was not shut down, but numerous national parks across Montana were closed.

- The most widely reported case occurred at the World War II memorial in DC, where the NPS tried to prevent veterans from seeing the monument by erecting barriers and even threatening vets with arrest. The veterans stormed through the barricades anyway. “People had to spend hours setting up barricades where there are never barricades to prevent people from seeing the World War II monument because they’re trying to play a charade,” Senator Rand Paul told Fox News.

Senior Republicans on the House Natural Resources Committee are considering opening up an investigation into where the Obama administration directly ordered the “outrageous” closure of the memorial as part of a ploy to “make the current lapse in appropriations as conspicuous and painful to the public as possible,” according to the letter from chairman Doc Hastings, R-Wash., and subcommittee chairman Rob Bishop, R-Utah.

Mt Vernon may be private, but it is serviced by the GW Parkway, which is park service.

Obama using thugs...LOFL.

Why resort to that type of crap?

I expect more from grown people.

Then why don't they close the whole damn Parkway?! lol

It was a BS move that they had to go to extra effort and expense to do just for publicity and political purposes. As they have elsewhere and as they always do around here at various facilities when these dumb pissing contests happen. This is the first time that I can recall them going to such lengths to close open-air and unstaffed places though. That points to a directed effort on the part of political appointees who head the agencies to play games. It doesn't happen otherwise.

You can rightly call out the stupidity and rhetoric on both sides, plenty of it on both, but that's the fact in this case.

The whole thing is stupid and unnecessary on both sides.

1) who gives a shit about enforcing the blocking of the parking lot.. they need to go find something better to do than prevent people from parking on a co-owned area.

2) It's retarded to even insinuate that the President directly ordered this and is deliberately hurting the public in this specific incident. Yes, I am so sure the President in all the things he has to do with the entire country was like.. Yo get some Park Police to shut off the co-owned with a private entity parking lot at Mount Vernon. Shut the fuck up.

Orders are coming down from political appointees in offices to make the shutdown as visible and painful as possible. The order started somewhere in the White House. Maybe not the President, but someone pretty high up.

Bill Clinton didn't even make these draconian maneuvers in his battles with the GOP in the 90s. Ohio Drive was open in the 90s. The monuments and memorials were open in the 90s.

No. You don't work for the gov't., Congressmen and their staffs do, so they EARN the benefits (including health insurance) that they receive.

And they should abide by the law that has forced many people into the exchanges. It is only EARNED because of the way they wrote the law. They created a two class system. One for them and one for everyone else. This is the Democrat idea of fairness?

They do "abide by the law". They are covered by health insurance as the ACA requires.

Which health insurance? The FEHB? No, they aren't. The law removed them from that program.

No, you filthy lying asswipe. Monuments, parks, and museums were closed in 1995-96 as well. That's what happens during a fucking shutdown. This is exactly what you right-wing asstards have been clamorng for, and now you don't like what you've done to yourselves and everybody else? What a bunch of utter shit-for-brains losers.

Nope. I know it is difficult for you to imagine deal leader manufacturing a crisis, but that is exactly what he is doing.

Wrong again, shit for brains. Tourist services were closed as in there were no tour guides or docents at the monuments, but they were still accessible.

No its not. They get special funding for their plans and are not full participants with the same rates and plans available to the public. They may technically be a part of it, but their participation is getting very special treatment.

Again though the NPS stuff is nothing more than trying to make this visual and hurt as much as it possibly can.

Attention STUPID FUCKWADS: FEHB is already an exchange system, and Congress and their staff people make their choices on that exchange just as every other federal employee does. The fact that STUPID FUCKWADS are just plain too dumb ever to have qualified for federal employment doesn't change the fact.

THEY are fucking paying for it, you asstard. Are you so seriously fucked up as to not realize that beyond their own employee share of health insurance premiums, federal employees pay all the same fucking federal taxes that you do? And in fact because you are such a total fucking dumbshit, it is very likely that most of them pay FAR MORE in federal taxes than you do, you no-account whiny little goat turd.

That piece of propaganda that the OP deliberately did not cite is brought to you by Alex Jones infowars.com - "Because There is a War on for Your Mind". Seriously delusional stuff there.

"Senior Republicans on the House Natural Resources Committee are considering opening up an investigation into where the Obama administration directly ordered the “outrageous” closure of the memorial as part of a ploy to “make the current lapse in appropriations as conspicuous and painful to the public as possible,” according to the letter from chairman Doc Hastings, R-Wash., and subcommittee chairman Rob Bishop, R-Utah."

Great. Another trumped up conspiracy by the usual attack dogs. Truly pathetic.

Why would they be? They're governement employees, otherwise eligible for federal benefits. Private-sector employees are not forced off of their employer-sponsored insurance plans. It's bad enough that Congress has been singled-out, they at least deserve not to be harmed by being forced to pay out of pocket for coverage obtained on exchanges.

No it didn't, you fucking jerkwad. You are at best another worthless trained-seal+ dumbfuck blindly swallowing the dead fish of Paul Gigot's asshat and quite willful failure to understand the so-called Grassley amendment. Here's an "Ork! Ork!" for you, dumbass. Grassley himself never intended that his amendment be adopted but it was adopted in his face anyway. The issues raised by that are with regard to government cost-sharing for any employees who do end up purchasing insurance on an ACA exchange rather than on an FEHB exchange. The ACA exchanges are of course intended only for those who do not have access to effective and affordable employer-sponsored health care plans. The Grassley amendment itself states that affected and eligible federal employees would use their current FEHB employer-share contributions to purchase insurance on ACA exchanges. But that language while plain, is not specific enough. Either OPM or Congress itself will make it specific enough. In the meantime, dishonest dickheads will try to make some phony political issue out of it, just as they do with every other triviality they can think of. These folks are all worthless scum.

You want to come at with me with the name calling because you are an unintelligent, uninformed, lying know nothing?

How about this straight from the horse's mouth?

Dear Members, Resident Commissioner, Delegates, and congressional staff:

Today, October 2, 2013, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) published its final rule on section 1312(d)(3)(D) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) which, effective January 1, 2014, limits the healthcare plans the Federal Government may make available to Members of Congress and certain congressional staff.

While we are completing our review of the final rule and anticipate issuing guidance as soon as possible, we wanted to make sure offices were made aware of the following information:

• Members and congressional staff currently enrolled in a health plan under the Federal Employee Health Benefit Program (FEHBP) will continue to be covered through December 31, 2013, unless they voluntarily choose to cancel their current enrollment.

• Members and certain staff will need to enroll in alternate health plans by January 1, 2014, to avoid a break in coverage.

• Members and those staff required to enroll in an alternate plan will have the option of enrolling in the District of Columbia’s DC Health Link Small Business Market (DC SHOP). The open enrollment period for Members and staff enrolling in a plan under the DC SHOP will be November 11, 2013, through December 9, 2013.

As always, Members with questions and/or concerns are encouraged to contact the CAO’s Members’ Services at (202) 225-3644. Staff with questions and/or concerns are encouraged to contact the CAO’s Office of Payroll and Benefits at (202) 225-1435.

Sincerely,

Dan Strodel
Chief Administrative Officer

------------------------------------------

So, speaking of worthless, I believe it explains your entire post. The CAO of the House of Representatives said that coverage under the FEHB ENDS Dec 31.

Where's you get your talking points? The backside of Harry Reid's toilet paper. Your either stupid or a liar. Pick one.

Are you brain dead or just such a disingenuous partisan dick sucker that you don't realize that taxpayers still are paying whether they also pay some small amount of their income through their own taxes or not? Who do you think pays their salary to begin with not to mention the pure contribution toward the benefits beyond that. The comparison to a private plan doesn't work in the case of public employees buttmunch.

No matter how much you say it it doesnt change the fact their benefits and plans are different from even other Federal Employees.

They gave themselves special treatment above and beyond what a federal employee gets. I know they are under extreme hardship now that their shoe shiner was sent home and they have to push their own elevator button without the attendants.

Theyre congress not federal employees. They should have to abide by the exact same rules everyone else does. Being elected used to be a honor not an entitlement

Accessible? What a fucking farce. Could you get into thw Washington Monument? The Zoo? The Smithsonian? NO!!!! You couldn't get into hundreds of such facilities all around the country. And you could walk up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Now there are barricades because of the manufactured crisis.

Oh, and answer from the horse's mouth. He handed you a big bunch of fail and you folded like a cheap suit. It is clear the FEHB won't be available to Congress come Jan. 1 making you a big fucking liar!

Get a fucking map or drive there some time. On the north end it is serviced by GW Parkway, on the south end it's a state road: not affected by the shutdown.

Further, Mr. Ass Clown, the parkway is open today.

All memebers of Congress and their staffers are employees of the federal governement. The same with the president and all WHite House staffers: Employees of the federal governement.

No, it's because it is important to draw attention to the fact that you are actually just another deceitful pinhead and worthless partisan fucktard. This place is crawling with just such vermin. The memo language you quoted above plainly states -- but apparently not plainly enough -- that OPM rulemaking is NOT completed and that any rules (whether interim or final) are expected to apply to some but not to all. Exacvtly nothing at all has yet been done or even reported in a meaningless FYI memo to resolve the actual problem -- the funding issues raised by the insufficiently specific language of the Grassley amendment text. This means that EXACTLY AS I FUCKING STATED ABOVE, "...either OPM or Congress itself will make it specific enough. Worthless ignorant fucktard. The CAO of the House is not vested with any rule-making authority at all. He is vested with as-of-the moment FYI memo-issuing authority as he may choose to exercise that. His memo meanwhile states that current FEHB coverage will in any case continue through December 31. It says nothing at all about when such or any coverage at all might actually end. Are you too fucking stupid to have understood or in fact even recognized the difference between those two?

Why don't you just come over here and blow me, you ignorant asswipe. Until then, you remain just one more ignorant and useless dumbfuck, deceitful pinhead, and worthless trained-seal scumbag. Have a nice day, dickwad.

Bullshit, lies or stupidity. Pick one.

From the memo:

Today, October 2, 2013, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) published its final rule on section 1312(d)(3)(D) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) which, effective January 1, 2014, limits the healthcare plans the Federal Government may make available to Members of Congress and certain congressional staff.

-----------------------

Do you understand what the word "final" means? Do you understand what the word "published" means? OPM has issued the rule and it is final. Not sure why you continue to provide misinformation.

OPM has spoken. Now it is up to the House CAO to implement the OPM FINAL Rule.

Read the sentence AFTER the Dec. 31 deadline. (I know your lips are moving when you are reading it). What needs to happen in order to avoid a break in coverage? (instead of being a cocksucking ignoramus, actually answer the question for a change).

You do realize they wrote the law and voted on that to happen right?

You then understand they made sure they got special treatment in it getting coverage so great its available to no one else at a very small price right?

So tell me again how are they treated so much worse than everyone else?

Can you tell me the federal employees that get to vote on their pay raises?

How about that can vote on their healthcare plan?

Like I said either trolling or youre Gerry Connelly.

That is completely untrue.

PS - It's really the staffers that I care about. Most Congressmen are wealthy enough that none of this effects them personally anyway. But for staffers making $30k/year, being forced to pay out-of-pocket for health insurance hurts.

No you clearly said that Congress gets treated worse than federal employees.

If Obamacare is so great why do staffers need special treatment?

Once more for the simple-minded, taxpayers INCLUDE public sector workers. They are paying at least as much and probably much more than you are. Every public sector worker I've ever talked to has understood this. You apparently do not.

Yup, another total right-wing illiterate too fucking desperately dull to realize that taxpayers and consumers are exactly the same group of people. There isn't anybody else out there, moron. Who do you think pays for private sector salaries and benefits over there, Goober? Consumers and taxpayers do, that's who. Too bad you never took any of them up on their offers of a free education. Sticking with the premise that public-sector workers cover their own salary and benefits huh? One big closed-cycle perpetual money machine. lmao Come on, even a mindless ultra-partisan chunk of Pelosi's cunt cheese like you can do better than trying to pull some false equivalency between consumers and taxpayers out of your well-worn asshole.

I worked in the public sector for a long time moron. But I'm not fucking dumb enough to pretend that I paid my own cost. I had an even better deal at the time - fully paid insurance, dollar-for-dollar matching to a savings plan, free parking downtown in the garage of our nice K street offices, fat bonuses and deferred comp plans, plus a generous pension plan if I'd stuck around that long. Any tiny percentage of my taxes which I paid toward any of it amounted to squat. As does it does in the case of all of the rest of public-sector workers.

Sorry Sven, you're wrong again. You won't find anything in Washington's will about the Mount Vernon Ladies Association, because they didn't buy it out of the family until just before the Civil War. It was in pretty bad shape then, and they turned it around.

Okay, please look into the history of what happened to Mt. Vernon after George's death.

It was falling into disrepair -- falling apart -- and the ladies were able to buy it, fix it up, and make it into what it is today. They felt it should become a national treasure since it was the home of the "Father of our Country." They have done a lot to make a go of it and restore the property to what it was like when George and Martha lived there.

If not, Fairfax County would have had it gobble up for development long ago...

The one thing that everybody actually involved DOES agree on is that nobody knows yet what the funding of health care for employees affected by the Grassley amendment will look like. Your pal, Horse's Ass, simply bobbled the ball left and right. He is just as fucking clueless as anyone else about how either OPM or Congress itself will eventually work things out, but he chooses to lie about that. This is what makes him a total asswipe and fuckwad. Believeing him is what does it for you.

Complete and total bullshit. In the '95 and '96 shutdowns, there were no barricades. Tourists were free to visit the monuments.

Again, more bullshit. The FINAL rule has been PUBLISHED. There is no "eventually" as OPM has issued a FINAL rule. You claimed that the FEHB will be available for Congressional employees. The CAO's own memo indicates it won't be. I assume you know more than the House CAO. Again, you are either a liar or a retard. Pick one.

I understand that you're a partisan hack. Perhaps that's why you're being so obtuse. Or, maybe you're just an idiot. Nonetheless...

"Congress" is a branch of the federal government. It is not 535 people. Every person who works in the in the US Capital works for Congress, all of the people who work in the Senate & House office buildings work for Congress. Got it? The cooks in the Senate dining room do not 'get to vote on their pay raises'. Dumbass.

The ACA exists to ensure the availability of health insurance for Americans not already covered. Congress, comprised of federal workers, was already covered under the same sysem that covers other federal employees.

Under the ACA, the only federal employees who are kicked out of the federal health insurance system are employees of the US Congress. That is disparate treatment which is worse than the treatment received by other federal workers.

So, you are saying the ACA is not that good? If it is such a raw deal, why do the rest of us have to comply with it?

Let's recap, asshole. Your "black and white" is a meaningless FYI pass-through advisory from an out-of-the-loop admin functionary. You either misundertood or deliberately misrepresented the scope and authority of this source. You misrepresented what was actually said. You failed to notice that what was actually said was fully consistent with my earlier post. Could you have fucked things up any more royally? Probably, but just how would not be immediately apparent.

> Do you understand what the word "final" means?

Yes indeed, fuckwad. In fact, I'm more than merely familiar with a variety of this word's multiple meanings, which is why I so easily recognize your worthlessly feeble attempt at a fallacy of equivocation. Since you so desperately need the following guidance, the final rule of Sep 30 was issued in order to un-interim the interim rule of August 7 in advance of the government shutdown, The final rule is no more final in the inapplicable sense that you want to apply than was the final rule that this final rule superceded. There will be further final rules that alter and amend the one of Sep 30. Of course, stupid dumbshits will not have thought through any of that. Too fucking stupid.

> Do you understand what the word "published" means?

Yes, and as above, I even understand that this rule was actually published on Monday,Sep 30, not Wednesday, Oct 2. You and your flim-flam out-of-the-loop gasbag source could not get so much as the fucking date correct.

> OPM has issued the rule and it is final. Not sure

Come on, fucktard. The misinformation here is confined to your own small and feckless mind. It is unfortunately slopping over into public space where it might come to contaminate others.

> OPM has spoken. Now it is up to the House CAO to
> implement the OPM FINAL Rule.

No responsibilities at all were delegated by this rule to the House CAO. Conduct of health insurance programs for federal employees is an OPM matter. Your functionary boy will be counted on to pass on further FYI advisories that have no other force or effect at all. One of the key take-aways from the actual final rule of Sep 30 in fact is the matter of how little is actually final at this point.

> No, but OPM is and OPM issued a FINAL Rule
> YESTERDAY! Is that sinking in yet, you ignorant
> slut?

Yo, asswipe! It was fucking issued on Monday, not Wednesday, and it's only final until either Congress or OPM addresses the need to make it un-final again. Just as was noted in an earlier post not made by you.

> Read the sentence AFTER the Dec. 31 deadline.

No new information.

No one knows the answer to that question yet, although there are ways in which affected employees (whoever they may be) could choose to terminate their current coverage and start coverage under a different plan. Only a few of those different plans are yet available though.

> (instead of being a cocksucking ignoramus, actually answer the

One part of the answer to all of your posts and questions has been that you are an ignorant lying fucktard. This is because you are an ignorant lying fucktard.

That's a laugh. Come on back, and we can explore such further levels of your ignorance and incompetence as you may in that act reveal. Or you could always just go fuck yourself.

I'm back, bitch. Here is the rule issued on OCTOBER 2ND.

https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/10/02/2013-23565/federal-employees-health-benefits-program-members-of-congress-and-congressional-staff

From the Rule: OPM was asked to clarify the termination date for current FEHB plan coverage. Current FEHB health plan enrollment for Members of Congress and congressional staff employed by the official office of a Member of Congress will terminate at midnight on December 31, 2013.

Your lies are fucking lies. They stink (like you do) to high heaven. It is right there for the world to seem, but you are either too big a liar or too big a retard to admit to it.

Do you have any other flatulence to emit from your mouth, butthurt bitch?

You should take one of those "Reading for Comprehension" classes. Maybe NOVA offers one if your local FCPS facility doesn't. Although many seem still to be unaware of it, no one has questioned the origin or existence of the Grassley amendment. What's been pointed out as a bunch of total asswipe malarkey are all these fucktard claims about what the effects of it are or will be. The actual effects of it are not known yet since the language of the amendment was not sufficiently specific. Either OPM or Congress itself will have to act to provide such specificity. Under current conditions, people are forced into merely guessing at what the law might mean, and that includes people at OPM.

WRONG, butthurt bitch!

Final Rule:

https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/10/02/2013-23565/federal-employees-health-benefits-program-members-of-congress-and-congressional-staff

OPM was asked to clarify the termination date for current FEHB plan coverage. Current FEHB health plan enrollment for Members of Congress and congressional staff employed by the official office of a Member of Congress will terminate at midnight on December 31, 20.

Again, look up the definition of FINAL.

Better go back to your pottery classes, dumbfuck. It may take a while, but these physical approaches can turn out to be quite therapeutic over the long run. You could always just blow me of course if you wanted to branch out from pottery a bit.

Thats humorous coming from a guy arguing that Congress is treated poorly.......

I know facts piss you off, they get in the way of the indoctrination.

Those are people that work for congress and congressional staff not Congress. Or do you also think a Special Agent is the FBI?

You didnt say staff, you said Congress. Youre trying to back track now because only someone in a coma doesnt mean Congress when they say Congress. If they meant the staff they would say congressional staff. I guess thats too hard for you.

Tell me again how Congress is treated so poorly?

> The ACA exists to ensure the availability of

No they werent covered under the same system theyre covered on a special system with special benefits.

Again you do understand Congress wrote the bill in the first place?

When you get to write the bill anything thats a result of it isnt a disparity.

It worries me that you dont seem to have any understanding of how this actually works.

You also havent addressed why they should get special plans with special rates?

If Obamacare is so great why cant they be a part of the exchange like everyone else?

Nacy Pelosi said the plans would be too expensive for her staff so they need special rates.

After getting your ass handed to you, you are inviting strange men on the internet to provide you with oral sex.

Yeah, you're one butthurt lyin' lil' bitch.

Final Rule:

Failure to follow along. Falling through the cracks of such logical discontinuities seems to be a characteriostic of right-wing dumbfucks. To recap for the really slow on the uptake here, a suggestion was made that taxpayers pay for both the wages and benefits of public sector workers. It is no less true that public sector workers are themselves taxpayers, that the wages and benefits of private sector workers are paid for by consumers, and that the sets of taxpayers and consumers are in fact very nearly identical to each other. Hence the original distinction is one without a difference. It is all a case of six of one, half a dozen of the other, but right-wimgers are too damned stupid to notice.

Speaking of failure to follow along:

Agree with the last poster. Congress wrote the law so they would be exempt. Talk about self-serving! What a racket the liberals have going. Say and do anything to further their own agenda, and the liberal media actually falls for it.

Making disingenuous arguments which attempt to obscure the actual matter and omit little details of things such as magnitude - a characteristic of failing fucktards like you.

To try to argue that taxpayer funds are not the source from which Congress and staff and any subsidies to their benefits and/or contributions by them are paid, which was the point, on the basis that the latter also are taxpayers is idiotic. To further try to equate nonvoluntary taxpayers to voluntary consumers is just digging your stupid hole deeper.

You made a lame-ass argument. Live with it. Bitch.

Moron. The set of Congressional employees who will be effected in any way at all by the Grassley amendment has not been determined yet. What the effects will be on those who are effected has not been determined yet either.

I have not spoken with the gentleman, but it would appear that this might very well be the case. Of course, I'm in a position to speak freely. He is not.

More bullshit. The FINAL OPM rule lays it out in very clear fashion. It leaves that to the CAO of the House for House Members. The CAO has indicated that FEHB is ending on Dec. 31.

I am the only one providing links to actual documents. You keep vomiting nonsense. You don't even know the date the final rule was issued. Provide some backup for your bullshit lies. You won't because you can't.

You're still a butthurt lyin' lil bitch! Stick to trolling for cock here, it seems to be the only thing you are telling the truth about.

Are you this much of a whiney lil bitch in real life or do you just play a lying lil bitch on the internet?

You have no practical knowledge even of the basic vocabulary. The set of employees who may be affected by the Grassley amendment has not been determined yet. The actual effects that will impact upon whomever those people might turn out to be have also not been determined yet. Anyone too dumb to grasp these basic facts is deserving of dismissal as just another deceitful pinhead and worthless partisan fucktard.

Sure! Numbskulls don't do well in shooting off their damned-fool mouths. The chances of someone much smarter being around is far too high. Is there meanwhile anything else you wanted to say something completely stupid about?

It takes more than one to have a standoff. The Dems stance "We will not negotiate sounds like they are the one's holding the country hostage. Why not offer a counter proposal say 6 month delay. This country is a laughing stock right now to the whole world.

Sure I do. And OPM made it clear there is no grandfathering.

From the OPM FAQs:

Q. When will current coverage terminate for Members of Congress and designated Congressional staff?
A. Current FEHB health plan enrollment for Members of Congress and designated congressional staff will terminate at midnight on December 31, 2013. An additional 31 days of coverage is included after the termination date at no cost to the enrollee. Members of Congress and designated congressional staff who chose to purchase health insurance via the appropriate SHOP as determined by the Director may do so with an effective date of January 1, 2014.

Here is the context provided by OPM. So, go suck a donkey dick ya lil lyin' butthurt pussy.

Q. Why is OPM publishing this final rule?
A. This final rule is being published to clarify the eligibility of Members of Congress and designated Congressional staff members for health insurance coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program. Section 1312 of the Affordable Care Act requires that Members of Congress and designated Congressional staff must obtain coverage by health plans created under the Affordable Care Act or coverage offered via an Affordable Insurance Exchange (Exchanges).

And why is the federal budget tied to Obamacare? Why isn't it tied to some other law that people don't like? Why? ?????? Federal budgets are not about proposals and counterproposals on laws that have already been passed. This is ludicrous. If the Republicans want a new health care law, they should propose one and put it through Congress per the procedures in place. Of course the Dems don't want to negotiate because the whole premise of this debacle is just plain wrong and weird.

That has exactly nothing to do with your usual -- one might say, typical -- semantic stumbling, fumbling, and bumbling over the difference between "enrollment" and "coverage". But since you foolishly bring it up, the only thing that covered employees (whoever they are) could not be grandfathered into would be their current FEHB plans. These so far theoretical people would need to acquire coverage through an ACA exchange instead of through an FEHB exchange. It could be the very same plan from the very same issuer. It would only need to be purchased through an ACA exchange. Congressional employees who are not covered by the amendment will of course simply sail into 2014 and beyond with their same old FEHB plan coverage intact. Unless of course they choose to make an Open Season change, just as would be the case in any other year.

> Yes it has.

No, you obliviously ignorant fuckwad, it has not. No one yet knows which Congressional employees might be covered, in part because members themselves will have considerable leeway and discretion in identifying any such employees, and it has not been ruled out that such discretion might end in identifying no one at all who would be covered. Just one more thing from all those lands lying totally outside your pathetic blindered ken.

No, fuckwad. In your fabulous ignorance, you misconstrue and misinterpret everything. Not everyone does that.

You conveniently didn't quote this part, shit for brains:

Q. When will current coverage terminate for Members of Congress and designated Congressional staff?
A. Current FEHB health plan enrollment for Members of Congress and designated congressional staff will terminate at midnight on December 31, 2013. Why is that? Oh yeah, it completely refutes the bullshit emanating from your keyboard the past two days.

Get a fucking grip, asshat, Final in this context is opposed to interim. There is nothing in the final rule (of Sep 30) to preclude that final rule from being modified or superceded by a different final rule -- one resulting either from future OPM action or from future legislation. This particular final rule was issued in the face of a looming government shutdown for the limited purposes stated -- to provide such clarification as there was so far grounds for to that still undetermind set of federal employees who might be covered by the Grassley amendment. End of story. You are so totally out of your fucking league here.

Sums up that situation pretty well. Republicans have lost on health care in Congress, in the courts, and at the ballot box. So they will simply try to blow stuff up until they get their way. Toddlers learn soon enough that this sort of strategy doesn't work. Being less well developed than toddlers, Republicans do not. They just keep doing the same stupid thing over and over and over again.

The matter is fucking irrelevant, you stupid asswipe. Health benefits coverage ends for all federal employees at the end of each year, but it's usually at the end of the plan year. For the as yet indeterminate set of employees who might be affected by the Grassley amendment, it will be the end of the calendar year instead. So fucking dumb.

I'm not required by law to go shopping at a given store, or for any given product, or at all for that matter. We are required by law to pay taxes. Which is what pays for the Congress and staff.

If you don't think Obama is directly responsible for this thug behavior imposed on all Americans then you have your head up your ass. If you pull your head out of your ass and still think it's still not his fault then you have to agree that he is a leaderless pussy for allowing it to happen.

For someone who was somewhat happy to see him elected in 2008, I really can't describe how much I resent him and how he hates America. He is a complete liar and has no appreciation for America. He has no virtue or character, he is poison. I can't wait for him to leave so we can start rebuilding America. He doesn't represent Democrats or Republicans, he represents an existence that only exists in minds of warped people like him and Soros.

May God protect us and America during these times.

Obama is a classic narcissist--has everyone conned, including himself, into believing that he is a world-class leader, thinker, and visionary. He has displayed nothing but cynicism, ineptness, and self-serving decisions since the day he arrived in DC. He has everyone covering for his NUMEROUS shortcomings because so many liberals scream "RACIST!" if you don't immediately agree with their agenda.

WAKE UP, people. The United States is being destroyed from within, and the ones doing the most damage are the ones with the name "Democrat" or the letter "D" after their names. Pelosi and Reid are classic examples of why we need term limits for Congress.
