Anyone hear gunshots around 7am today off Rolling Rd near W. S. High school?

Heard it. Two separate bursts. Sirens minutes later followed by helicopter flying over.

I heard the first round at 6:50 am, approx. 4 to 5 shots and they were close. (I live in Kings Park). It sounded like they were coming from South Hampton Drive in Kings Park. A few minutes later, I heard a lot of shots that sounded further away, maybe coming from the woods at Lake Accotink. I wonder if the person was caught, the helicopter only circled a few times and then left. The shots were scary, mainly because the high schoolers were out waiting for their buses or walking to school.

Yes. I heard what sounded like shots (or a nail gun?). I was in my house and some of my windows were opened so it was difficult to determine where the pops were coming from. My son was getting ready to leave for school.

I drove my son to his bus stop (he normally walks but was running late) and when I returned home, the police helicopter was circling. But that only lasted for 15 minutes....it's been quiet since. I can't imagine that it really was gun shots but I would love to know what the heck that was.

Nail guns. It's called construction. You know, rip down trees to add to ones vanity and arrogance. The keeping up with the Jones thing.

I said a nail gun but I don't think that it was. Maybe some sort of firework? It really did sound like shots but if that had been the case I would have expected to see/hear more police, sirens..

I am halfway between OLD KEANE MILL and BRADDOCK ROAD (near ROLLING ROAD). It sounded like it was coming from the direction of West Springfield high school - hard to tell since I was indoors with open windows.

Two police cruisers plus a helicopter were in and over my neighborhood (the cars were cruising for almost 30 minutes).

This was no nail gun. The frequency and volume was like a handgun or semi-auto rifle. If it was a nail gun on a contruction site, it would have continued. It did not.

It came in two or three bursts, the first one about 2-3 rounds, then a whole bunch, then a couple more. My first thought was some sort of shootout. But no way this was a nail gun - I know what a nail gun sounds like and I know what firearms sound like - this was not a nail gun.

Wasn't there a similar incident involving gunshots recently, in that area by West Springfield?

Yes, you're right. It wasn't a nail gun. That's what I tried to convince myself that I heard but...no, not a nail gun. Maybe fireworks of some sort? Car backfire? Sometimes those can sound like gun shots. I heard pretty much what you you are describing. Then the helicopter seemed to be flying over Rolling Road/Signal Hill area but maybe it was flying up and down Rolling Road. I would love to know what that was all about.

People own guns.
Sometimes they like to fire them.
Its a fact of life.
Deal with it.

You fags would never last a day in my grandparent's neighborhood over in Israel.

First, why aren't you at Middle School today, troll. Second, most on here were not acting afraid, but just commenting on the gunfire today. Third, responsible gun owners, like myself, "like to fire" our weapons. However, the vast majority of the gun owners I know, are too responsible to shoot them in a neighborhood. So, either you are a pimply faced troll, or you are an uninformed gun owner who is a danger (mostly to yourself). I suspect you are a kid who has no sense of reality. You are surrounded by former military members who have spent months, even years, hearing gunfire and explosions all around them and are more accutely aware of their surroundings than the avg stupid knucklehead like yourself.

No reports during the local news so it didn't happen.

Could have easily been a powder-driven nail gun:

They sound & smell just like gunshots .... because they are gun shots. There's a blank cartridge loaded behind a nail. The one I linked above is a semi-auto too. $200, not bad.

Anyways, stop being a pansy and calling the cops for every sound you hear. The cops around here are hyped-up enough as it is. Grow up.

A local contractor has been hiring illegals and then murdering them at the end of the job to avoid paying them. Local residents reported hearing gunshots as the bodies were dumped at this location.

A vintage 1940s blue pickup truck was pulled over on Rolling Road in front of the Baptist church between WSHS and Hillside. A newer truck was parked in front of it and they were trying to jump it. I was waiting at the light at rolling and Hillside. A series of real loud pop pop pops came from the truck. Real loud. A guy walking along Rolling 50 yards beyond the truck actually ducked down because he thought they were gunshots.

So that was the noise.

pest control

tree trimming

locker combination was forgotten

the Baptist church collected only cans of kidney beans that week. two poor people flatulated enough to cause nearby cars to backfire
