Explosion just occurred at South Run Park. Anyone listening to their scanner?

Someone told me a little girl was in the construction site- a crane was there, maybe she got buried??

I saw the crane and a bunch of emergency vehicles.. After we passed we looked back and saw a lot of black smoke..

The black smoke is likely from a house on fire on Bellingham Court in Barrington. Massive amount of emergency vehicles in the neighborhood.

Two separate events:

1. House fire on Bellingham, has about 10 fire trucks and even more ambulances on location.

2. Girl apparently trapped in a pipe at South Run Park.

FCFD really earning their pay today......

Been listening to scanner about the house fire. This must be a mansion, because several firefighters have been hurt, plus one civilian. Sounds like a huge setup, with command center, Reba. Center as well as many other stations setup. Redcross called in. Anyone know anything else, or why so many different stations called for just a housefire?

Any news about the fire...I think it is my brother's home. I live in the midwest. Only news came from my mother stated that the house was on fire...

Since Red Cross was called in, and they only show up to provide assistance to those affected by disasters, fires, etc. I can assume that he was displaced, i.e. he's homeless.

By the way, people on here are assholes so I wouldn't bother coming back to this internet cesspool if I were you.

The house is fairly large (just over 4,000 square feet I'm guessing). Totally destroyed. Belongs to a family with grown children. Nobody was home at the time. A civilian was injured breaking down the door to make sure nobody was home. Response time was evidently delayed due to the incident at South Run.

Don't play in pipes or this will happpen to you...

Reba Center? You have now clue but I'll buy you a vowel. Try Rehab Sector, short for rehabilitaion, you know with water, shade and such.

not likely a fire, i live near there, didn't smell or see any smoke.

A family of three has been displaced after a Sunday afternoon house fire in the 8100 block of Bellingham Ct. in Fairfax Station. It took Fairfax County firefighters over an hour to bring the fire under control and one firefighter was taken to the hospital for observation.

"First arriving units found fire coming through the roof," said Fairfax County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Renee Stilwell. "This fire was huge. The roof is gone and the second floor fell in."

No one was home when the fire was reported at around 12:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Can a fire get that huge without the presence of lots of accelerants? Like, more than you'd normally find in a home?
