How to note an appeal for a judgement
Posted by: judge ()

I want to appeal on a judgement.
The landlord placed a judgement on the business property to evacuate me in the court.

I want to note to appeal as the judgement says I have the right to noting an appeal in 8 days and appealing in 30 days.

How can I note to appeal in 8 days? Is it done by smply calling the General district court?

He wanted to evacuate you in the court? Couldn't he find a restroom? And, what are you doing in his colon anyway?

Go see a clerk or get a lawyer. You are in way over your head.

I don't know if you call to note to appeal.

It sounds like you already skipped out on a hearing and he obtained a default judgment. Hope you have a good reason for not showing up.

Hire a lawyer. If you do it wrong you are going to be SOL, and you can't sue someone from FFU for giving you bad legal advice.

One thing that you should be aware of is that you will be required to post a bond in order to appeal the case. They don't give you new trials in eviction actions simply because you didn't like the result. No idea how much the bond amount would be, but it likely will be well above the amount your landlord says you owe in back rent. If you are just getting tossed for late payment of rent you might want to call the landlord to find out how much it would take for them to drop the eviction. It might be cheaper.
