Went to three stores this morning near Fairfax City. Each one had a bum out front begging for money. One must have weighed 300+ pounds so he wasn't starving. This shit is getting old. With all the free stuff Fairfax gives out at my expense why do they have to bother me?

Having lived here a long time I can never recall so many bums. In the past they would at least say please and thank you. Now its more of a demand. They block the doors and shove a hand into your face. I feel for the stores because if they ask the bums to leave the employees will be assaulted or the store vandalized.

I've lived in this area all my life and all of your are absolutely right. Never have I seen so many and they are getting nasty when you don't give them anything. Why aren't the cops going after them? There's a law in place to deal with this. I know in Fairfax they busted a few of them too.

Maybe the economy has something to do with it?

A month or so ago, a bum walked up to me in Five Guys (the Fairfax Blvd location) and asked me for money. I was surprised the staff allowed him to remain in there. Usually, bums are asked to stay outside a store.

Interesting. I haven't run into any panhandlers in Fairfax...and I don't want to.

I remember reading a post about police arrests. One of them that was arrested lived in Maryland. Maybe they're coming here because pickings are better?

Arlington is loaded with them. The drive there in the morning features them on the corner of every major intersection. One non Caucasian has a sign printed that says loyal combat veteran. He is very loyal to the corner of Lee Highway and Washington Blvd.

Just the next intersection east is a thin violent sub human caucasion who smokes and carries a sign that reads, "I bet you can't hit me with a quarter". Arlington County has an ordinance that calls for a $200 permit for panhandlers. The Arlington fuzz are afraid of paperwork so the numbers continue to escalate. When the Metro opens the Silverline these ilk will move into Fairfax County. In come Metro, in come Crime!

Saw two of them a few hours ago at 123 and 29 intersection. Motorists were handing them cash left and right. Some of them probably have big houses in Great Falls and vote republican.

STOP calling them BUMS!

Where in that bill does it mandate securitizating mortgages and getting rating agency to lie about there real value?

At the very least the bums should have to provide a service if they want money. Not talking about rubbing my windshield with a dirty newspaper. How about a couple of minutes dancing for my amusement.

Libs for years constantly have been touting home ownership for people, even if they couldn't afford a house.
