Not Fairfax, but there's one at Pentagon City Mall in Crystal City. There's also one in Old Town Manassas.

I don't know about this global warming shit.

But, I do know that as a kid in NOVA (50's/60's) we used to skate and play hockey on ponds that were frozen solid for most of (every) winter. Annandale Hardware even had skate sharpening equipment.

Something is different now...

Two places I remember skating on in the 70s, was Annandale NOVA's pond and part of Lake Accotink.

In the 80s, I fell through the ice at Burke Lake. It was maybe 3" thick... That was the last time I went out on ice around here...

It's called a Population Increase. NoVa used to be the country back in the 50's/60's, and therefore there wasn't any "Heat Island" effect. Even now-a-days, Western Fairfax Co. can have Snow, while the Annandale area receives Rain from the same system (It's closer to a Higher Population density, and lower in elevation).

You should've seen the Potomac last Winter, it was straight frozen solid for most of January even down by D.C.

Pershing Square on Penn Ave about 15th. Rink is smaller but less used.

It seems this global warming shit is for real. Now it's too dangerous to skate on ponds in the winter.

Yeah, it isn't January yet. That is when it reaches the coldest times around here and lasts through the beginning of March.

Is that an honest question? We had 2 feet of snow a few weeks ago. How much is there now? Feel free to skate on any pond you wish and cleanse the gene pool.

Hey idiot, if you don't have anything to contribute, shut the fuck up. Try pissing in your driveway and see if it will be ice.

It's not in Fairfax County, but close - there's some very good skating along the C&O Canal just above Chain Bridge.
