8 massive sonic booms, Chantilly 1015 am 7/25/2013

Anyone else hear feel them? 8 consecutive booms. Loud and made the windows of my home "flex" and items in my kitchen cupboard rattle.

No, but I did hear unusual sounds out in Herndon today near the Toll Road.

They are blasting as they begin building the new elementary school across the street from Lunsford Middle School off Braddock Rd. Could be the reasons for the booms you are talking about.

The police was conducting a bomb squad drill in the quarry across Rt. 50 from South Riding. I heard a total of 16 by the time it was all over.

The original poster specifically mentioned SONIC booms, which explicitly identifies the sound as aircraft in this area, or a meteor or a UFO... something moving through the air. None of the explanations provided are even close to the cause.
