Robbery Attempt by Four Suspects
Mount Vernon Police District – Police responded to a report of a robbery attempt and assault that took place in the 3300 block of Southgate Drive on Wednesday, June 12.
A 23-year-old man and 33 year-old woman were reportedly walking at around 10 p.m. when they encountered four men. The man was allegedly grabbed by one of them; another produced a gun, and the other two grabbed his companion. The men assaulted the woman and demanded her belongings. She screamed and they fled.
Suspects are described as black, between the ages of 16 to 20 and wore masks. One wore a gray polo shirt with khaki shorts and had long dreadlocks pulled up in the back. Another suspect, who reportedly held the weapon, was very thin and wore a black tank top and jean shorts.
