The roads have gone to shit! Every morning and throughout the day, I have assholes driving like they are some hot shot race car driving maniac. Why don't you leave 10 minutes earlier instead of having to endanger everyone around you? I suppose the only solution to this mess is to just ramp up police presence and ticket these aggressive drivers. Sad to see it come to this, where the drivers around here are not responsible enough to get out earlier, resulting in roads that have become sheer madhouses full of maniac drivers. I'm talking about the ones that weave in and out of lanes to get gain that extra minute, all the while with no signals, and then going 55 in a 35 zone on local roads.
BTW, I myself go 10-20 mph over in the passing left lane, and 5-10 over in the slow lanes, 5 over with no traffic, 10 over with asshats on my ass.

Oh, I know what you mean. Traffic is horrible around here and the drivers are from all over the world and none of them know how to drive.

Some people just drive like asshole, just like some people are assholes. Imagine that. Given there's tens of thousands of people on that road everyday you have situations like this:
1) assholes
2) someone who is actually really late and doesn't give a fuck*
3) someone who is having an emergency*
4) quickly making a move to cut off someone who was a complete asshole to them .5 seconds before you looked*
*may or may not be an asshole
Additionally, if you're the cool customer going "10-20 mph over" (so brave..) int he left lane and someone is on your ass.. move your dipshit self out of the way and stop impeding traffic that actually wants to go somewhere.

Sorry I wasn't more clear - 10-20 over until the opportunity to pass presents itself. You would imagine folks would chill out and get off your ass. If an evasive maneuver had to be made, I doubt the asshat would have time to react safely!

I-95 is the path of choice for crazy commuters that work in the 'city'.
I don't have kids, but I can only imagine what it feels like to look in your rear view mirror to see a car 4 inches off your bumper. No wonder everyone around here has such large vehicles - to protect themselves from horrible drivers that put others in danger due to their negligence!

How could I be a part of the problem? I use my signals throughout my lane changes (not just flicking them on for a second), I do not weave in and out of traffic, and I leave enough room for evasive maneuvers if the occasion were to arise. I keep up with the flow of traffic. When there are no cars on the road, I do the limit. When everyone is speeding, I adjust my speed accordingly so that the differences in speed (this is what is dangerous, difference in speed ie. traveling 70 mph and then slowing down to 55mph abruptly). If everyone did the limit, it would greatly reduce accidents and road rage, but that will never happen - I gotta get to woooorrrk now because I'm not responsible enough to plan ahead! Left lane riders also add the mess (got an emergency? well it would be ok if the guy in the left lane didnt go slow as hell)
