NSA has had sweeping access to private data from Verizon, and will likely know whether you're calling your mom and dad -- and anyone else. Is this the price of freedom?
The government likely will know whether or not you call your dad on Father's Day.
The National Security Agency has demanded three months of Verizon's phone records, according to a report from the The Guardian.
By collecting data on who delivered and received phone calls, along with the length of the call, government officials claim they can create a web of phone data that would thwart terrorist activity.

"It's called protecting America," said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
Sen Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a Verizon customer, is also happy to share his personal information.
"It doesn't bother me one bit that NSA has my number," he said.
What do you think? Is an NSA phone log of Father's Day greetings protecting America, or just rooting out rotten children everywhere? Tell us why in the comments.
