News Release 13-53
Date: May 14, 2013

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a condominium fire, Monday, May 13, 2013, at approximately 9:50 a.m. in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County. The condominium is located at 2840 Annandale Road in the James Lee Condominium Complex.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the terrace level of condominium complex upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive interior fire attack and extinguished the fire in approximately 10 minutes. The occupants were at home when the fire broke and escaped prior to firefighters arriving. The unit did not have a working smoke alarm. Seven occupants have been displaced. Red Cross support was offered but declined by the occupants. One firefighter was transported in INOVA Fairfax Hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

According the fire investigators, the fire is under investigation.

I remember having a beaner as a land lord one time. He was cooking on a stove with oil, and walked next to the the neighbor to talk for a while (about 15-minutes). Came back to the apartment and the kitchen was on fire, and the water sprinkling system. That joker really thought I was going to pay him the rent for the last two weeks of the month. Stupid!
