They found a dead body in Lake Braddock. Apparently a local contractor was using day laborers for a job and instead of paying them, he killed them and disposed of the bodies in Lake Braddock. Gruesome stuff.

A message from LAKE BRADDOCK SEC

Dear Lake Braddock Parents and Guardians,

Today, our security personnel and SRO discovered a stranger inside of the school building. While being questioned, the individual ran from the building; additional police were called in and the suspect was quickly apprehended.

We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for our students. The Fairfax County Police Department and the Fairfax County Public Schools Office of Safety and Security are our partners in helping us protect your children. Please talk with your son or daughter and urge him or her to always be aware of surroundings and to avoid any seemingly dangerous situations. Student should travel in pairs whenever possible and immediately report to an adult any suspicious individuals in the vicinity of the school.

Thank you for your cooperation. If you have questions or concerns about this or other school-related matters, please do not hesitate to call the school.

Dave Thomas

Principal

How do they define 'a stranger'? It makes you wonder...hypothetical:some kid goes into the school to pick up his baby brother and he's surrounded by cops. Maybe he got scared and bolted. Who knows? It's sad that we've gotten to this point.

Stranger = no visitor pass???

Meaning they had not checked in with the front office.

Not a problem. As I am the first to start this, I have no problem perpetuating it and appreciate it when others pay homage.

"Start" what? All you're doing is reporting on a hideous, unsolved crime spree.

"Perpetuating" what? If you don't continue your vigilance a killer will continue to roam free.

"Pay homage" to what? It's too big a job for one person. I'm happy to help you out where I can.

Agreed and thank you.

Maybe the guy was just there to sell a few bags of dope. As far as I know convicted drug dealers are still allowed to be on school grounds. So where's the problem.

Maybe the visitor was a grammar instructor. He wanted to make sure that "student should travel in pairs" instead of "students" since you only need one student to make a pair. He ran away. You know the saying though. You can run but you can't hide.

Was the visitor the one who was killed? What was the cause of death? Was he dead before the police found him, or did that happen when they were trying to take him into custody?

The visitor was taken into custody by FCPD after fleeing the school.

He claimed he came there because he wanted to educate students about the threat of Islam.

So did he die in custody then? Was he resisting arrest? It seems like a lot of people are dieing in police custody lately.

He was alive when he was taken into custody. Maybe he passed away later due to natural causes.

He probably died after being released on personal recognizance.

I don't think corpses can get the same terms of release as living defendants.
