What's the deal with all the dump trucks driving around with the "WORK VEHICLE DO NOT FOLLOW" signs on them? There's also a business in Newington that has a big flashing sign advertising that they have these signs for sale. Has there been a recent rash of dump truck stalkers? Has there been an increase in reports by dump truck drivers that they are being followed? Any dump truck drivers or dump truck followers here that can explain what the point of these signs are?

I was driving on rt 28 and noticed a female chink on the ass of a dump truck filled with gravel.
The dump truck hit a dip in the road and excess gravel from the back showered the chinks car.
I'll bet that knocked the rice out of her mouth.

Those damn dump trucks always seem to ride the left lane for some reason and travel in packs. When you try to pass them on the right, surprise surprise there is another one going even fuckin slower. Even if you keep a safe distance from them, shit keeps flinging off their dirty trucks on hitting your car. It's always Jethrow or Billy-Bob with Nascar sunglasses on with a cigarette dangling from their mouth driving those things too.

A lot of those signs were installed when the 495 express lanes were being built. there are job sites that are off of highways and the trucks almost have to come to a complete stop to pull in. I drive a dump truck. And I hate when other dump truckers drive slow as shit. At least drive the speed limit or pullover and wait if your trying to make time.

The signs are on the trucks so idiots don't follow them into construction zones. Yes, people have done this. Just driven into a construction area and then have no idea how to get back onto the roadway.

It is big government getting into our personal lives again. I remember back in the day, when we would load the family into the car and go out and follow dump trucks all around Northern Virginia. Such good times, but now that is gone. What next?

All trucks working on the 95 HOV extension must display those signs. Simple as that.

The Work Vehicle Do Not Follow sign, G20-V1 shall be mounted on the rear of a vehicle that is required
to slow down considerably to enter and exit the work zone; such as water trucks and dump trucks
hauling/delivering material (borrow or fill, asphalt, aggregate, etc.) to and from the work space. If the
tailgate has been removed or lowered for work operations (such as with an Athey Loader), the vehicle
would be exempt from having to display the sign. The sign is not required on one-way, two-lane
operations since flaggers normally control the ingress and egress of work vehicles, however it may be
used as an option. The sign may be covered or removed from view during normal operations other than
those listed above. The sign is not required to be placed on the back of pickup trucks, SUV’s, vans or
other vehicles such as safety service patrol, which can enter or exit the work zone at higher speeds.
