All I want is ammo and an AR-15 .. all they have is no ammo and overpriced AR-15s. Im okay waiting out this overblown hysteria until the gun bill goes nowhere and people calm down.

The gun industry should be sending massive gift baskets to the whitehouse to show them their appreciation.

The Chantilly Gun Show is the biggest ripoff. Also with the new group running the show they are requiring everybody to show identification and recording everybody.

It's just big front for the ATF, FBI and IRS to nab people. The take everybody over to the big blue building across the street for processing.

They also have undercover local cops looking at state tags and recording license plates on cars.

They sell guns now that gathered dust in the past. Now they move right off the table. The old standbys of Glocks and H&K go for three times the normal price. Ammo, forget about it, none to be found. Even .22 is sold out. Obama and liberals must be proud of their work, now there are hundreds of thousands of more guns being bought than ever before.

I wouldnt be surprised if the gun industry starts supporting democrats for the increased sales.

The Chantilly gun show is a joke: everything is horribly overpriced, if you can find it. Save yourself the time and money and order online. Wait for these idiot panic buyers and hoarders to burn themselves out. I got a big laugh when I heard a radio advertisement for the show mentioning "discount gunshow prices."

You're forgetting the whole testosterone aspect of this. Gun nuts go to gun shows to hang out with other gun nuts -- to brag about their guns, show them off, talk about shooting, etc. It makes them feel manly. They look forward to gun shows like a little kid looks forward to Christmas.

It's just not the same over the Internet.

Or stated another way..."You're forgetting the whole estrogen aspect of this. Liberals go to protests to hang out with other liberals-- to complain about their country, whine about how they are all vicrims, talk redistribution, fairness, how bad guns are, etc. It makes them feel emasculated. The Big Blue Spy Building(s), of course!

A landmark used for directions for people travelling to the area:

>>> "Keep on driving past 50 til you see the Big Blue Spy Buindings on your left, then take the enxt exit"

or

>>> "After you get off 66 heading north on 28, route 50 will be right after you pass Westfield BLVD and the Big Blue Spy Buildings on your left."

Works very well.

I knew a guy once who went to a DC NOW rally thinking
he was going to get laid. I laughed my ass off. The
DC chapter is 100% lesbian and his chances there weren't
good unless he went through a sex change. Typical liberal.

I stopped going to the Dulles Expo show because there are very few actual gun dealers exhibiting there. Most of the displays are for gun gear, books, and junk like knives and silencers. The prices for the few firearms on display are ridiculous which probably doesn't matter because the dealers don't accept food stamps anyway. It amazes me how effective the NRA is in leading all those $35k per year ragamuffins around by the nose. I doubt if most of those guys could afford more than a $70 Lorcin much less an assault rifle.

Lots of guns for sale and I have seen customers forking over big bucks, doubtful they make 35k a year. I know plenty of people making mid 150,000+ a year that buy and buy.

The Dulles gun show is complete crap. Useless stuff and WAY over priced junk.

And yes, the cops do haunt the parking lot looking at tags on cars. A couple of years ago the ATF was following people back to their addresses to make sure the guns were not being transported out of state.

I keep a couple guns in the house, properly secured of course. I dont get these guys that go to these gun shows year after year to jerk themselves off with a bunch of cowardly, crazed gun freaks. The vast majority of these freaks are middle to upper middle class overweight white guys. The guns I purchased 18 years ago are still in good working order. Being a gun owner is one thing but being a gun show guy is just sad and gay.

I wonder, have you ever been to a gun show? There are several different type of people that go. Some are nuts. Vast majority are not.

A gun show is the same thing as a computer show, home show, car show, boat show, etc etc. Its just a different subject matter. You may not like it or agree with the subject matter but that's one of the great things about America, you do not have to agree with my opinions and I do not have to agree with you.

I like going to the (insert what type subject you want)shows because I can shop and look at several different products from several different sellers in one location.

Get over it already.

I got pulled over by a Maryland state cop who had an ATF agent riding with him after I had purchased fireworks at a Pennsylvania fireworks place and was heading back to Virginia. Got me a federal charge and my fireworks confiscated. Had to hire a lawyer and go to federal court but the judge dismissed the charge because I had no prior criminal record. If they will do that for fireworks I am pretty damn sure they will do it for firearms.
The tricky bastards were driving an undercover ford f-250 pickup that I never would have suspected was a police vehicle.

I'd hold off. Now that we won in the Senate and quashed the liberals gun grabbing legislation, prices will come down and ammo, guns and magazines will be more readily available. It will likely take a couple of months for things to get back in balance. Hope DHS quits their stockpiling.

I have different philosophy. Of course, it only works because other people don't use it for the most part.

Become good friends with some firearms fanatics and become indespensible to them in some way(s).

Now it helps if you've had a long term frienship to begin with but is not absolutely necessary.

Your relationship to this or these experts must be geunine, something most of you don't know anything about unless you have a strong bond with your Savior's Holy Spirit. Sorry, only Jesus Christ fills that role.

These gun enthusiasts will teach you a great deal about firearms beginning with safety, safety, safety! Any time you are in a position to buy amunition of any caliber, buy it. Give it to your firearms mentors. If they can't use it, they probably know someone who can. If not it is still a great bargaining tool in the case of societal colapse or martial law.

I have become reasonably proficient with several types of hanguns and suck with long range shots useing a 30-30.

I have way above average stealth skills and have incredible skills with knives and hand to hand combat. Daily training is what it is all about even if for only 15 minutes when your schedule is just too busy.

My allies and I have taken oathes to each other and will fight to the death for eachother and eachother's loved ones.

Some of you will hurl all kinds of insults at me, but I don't mind, I feel secure.

Why buy guns otherwise- deer meat tastes horrible. Tyranny is the biggest threat

Ultimately it's nice not owning or possessing any firearms. Access is everything and I won't disclose any information on that.

The only people that will ever have a problem with me, are those government officials of any kind that think they have some kind of executive priveledge to violate my constitutional rights or those of my family and band of patriotic brothers.

If anyone perceives anything I have said as any kind of threat to the safety of any law abiding person including government personell and police, it is because they don't intend on abiding by the Constitution and Bill of rights. If their intent becomes active violation it could result in their death.

Gun shows should be an everyday fact of life! Kiosks should be set up in every mall

If those bastards are writing down tag numbers and filming peopole at gun shows get in their faces with your own video devices.

The Sandy Hook Hoax is not over by a long shot. Indictments are on the way soon, and some very prominent people will spend life in prison or die by lethal injection. Not a sermon- Just a promise!

I think that shows there is a huge market for gun shows. Instead of not going back, why don't you start hosting gun shows. I see lots of money to be made.

Putting more guns onto the streets is the same thing.

Gun shows do not put more guns into the "street." If you seriously believe this show me the data that these guns end up on the "streets."

Also stop with the "we have to do this for the kids" bullshit. This dies off with Bill Clinton and no one bought it then. You libs need to get some material.

You're probably right there, but the buying frenzy will likely end now that we won in the Senate, so lines shouldn't be too long for the next show.

I also think it'd be tough to write down plate numbers since the parking lot is co-located with Wally World and is usually jam packed on any given weekend.

You know what is still hard to find? Magpul magazines. Or as Biden calls them, gun clips. And Wally World hasn't had any ammo in stock any time in the recent past.

I went specifically for mags and ammo.

There were some pmags there, but they were like 59 bucks each. F-that, I'll just wait till the frenzy is done with in a couple months before I buy.

Giving in and buying at high prices will only perpetuate the problem. You gotta boycott any unreasonable sellers.

5.56 was selling for $0.50 a round.

It was cheap shit, I don't even remember what they were called.

I didn't buy any because I didn't wanna / dont have 1000 dollars to spend on a case of that.

It was a disappointing trip to the show.

Actually, for the first time ever, I thought about getting into reloading as a hobby. Is anyone knowledgeable?

Absolutely correct. Shot show in Denver. Real guns and technology. When you have displays of Nazi paraphernalia you are attending a losers anonymous convention.

I have friends who reload. It's a lot of up front cost but then it's quite economical. However, with the current frenzy, I'm sure even the cost of that stuff has gone up too.

Not many gun buyers...or many buyers at all in my opinion. Seems people were mostly there for ammo. Though it was in short supply...you could find it if you stayed away from the major ammo dealers. Bought .380 case and 30-30 case and paid just slightly more than usual prices...and all american made. Not the stuff I usually like to shoot...but good enough for the range and keeping proficient. .22LR was ridiculous...$115 for a brink that's normally $15? PLEASE! Right now I see that ammo situation as the one needing the biggest fix. Gun prices seemed a little inflated...but not too much. Don't think people were buying guns because of the ammo issue. But next show likely to pick up my next addition to my gun cabinet if prices are the same as this show.

I was there for ammo, too. Took me a while to find some 9mm lugar FMJ, but I did. The prices on guns themselves seemed about normal, the only real mark ups on .223 AR-15s - most were going between $1200 and $1500. Makes me regret getting rid of my .40 S&Ws during the last ammo shortage because everybody seemed to have that available.

That would be the NRO this one, http://www.nro.gov/

I had to pick something up at Wally World by the Expo Center today, forgot about the gun show until I turned in off Brookfield and said "Woah! Look at the sea of pickup trucks!" Almost rear-ended some git who was gawking and kept stopping randomly.

I was also there on Friday looking for .45 Auto and the going price was hovering around $.90 per cartridge ... even at bulk case pricing of 500 per case. Expensive!

I remember a year ago where there was no frenzy that I could get it for under $0.38 each at bulk pricing.

Waiting until much later this year to get my fix...

Not sure how your story of being stopped in MARYLAND by MARYLAND police coming across the PA state line has anything to do with this topic. It is not an example of police in Northern Virginia or the ATF following people home from the Chantilly gun show.

Shot Show is held in Las Vegas and has been for the past few years. It was in Florida before that. When was it ever held in Denver?

Shot Show is also an "industry show". Its not open to the general public. Its open to gun makers and dealers of firearms or firearm related items. Military and Police can not even get in unless they hold positions responsible for buying stuff for their departments or services. You also can not buy guns there and carry them out the door. The gun makers show off their products to the dealers attending so they know what they want to order to sell at their shops.

Most people buy either Blue (Dillon) or Red (Hornady.) You would be well served purchasing either. They are a bit different and I recommend you find someone local who has one or the other so you can try them first. If that isn't possible, look at youtube for some reloading videos and you can see how each press works. You can easily recover the cost of the press after a few thousand rounds.

Reloading components are just as hard to find as ammo so if you are really thinking of reloading, don't expect to be able to press out ammo right away.

I suggest you also purchase the book "The ABC's of reloading"
http://www.amazon.com/ABCs-Reloading-Definitive-Novice-Expert/dp/1440213968

Next you'll want a good reloading manual like the Lyman book. 49th is out but here is the 48th version.
