The relief pitchers all suck, every last one of them. Mike Rizzo should not have traded away Michael Morse. They should platoon Roger Bernadina and Denard Span in center field so they can be known as Spic and Span.

Bernadina = Spic? Whut?

Last I checked they were 7-3, and their relief team of Clippard, Storen, and crew are among the best in baseball.

Yea, I don't get it when people say the Nats suck . . . Maybe they just haven't been into baseball for the past couple years .... or something.

Atlanta is missing several players but they still streamrolled the Nats. If you want to see what a real relief pitcher looks like, look at Craig Kimbrel. Nats have nothing close.

Saying a real reliever is Kimbrel is unrealistic expectations. Hes the best in baseball because he has no equals.

That said Storen should be traded. You cant throw him under the bus like Davey did last year and expect there not to be a carry over effect of him being worried about fucking up all the time and trying to be too perfect.

It would also help if Zimmerman wasnt still hurt and could actually throw.

I love that the Redskins fans are trying to watch baseball now... said no Nationals fan ever... It's 2 weeks into the season... Unlike football, the season isn't 1/4 over already... But I can see where that's a difficult concept, there's math involved...

By your math, the Redskins would play only 8 games (2 weeks = 1/4 thus full season = 2 x 4 = 8 weeks). You math is weak. But your main point is correct.

Worse still, Crapitals fans are getting all excited and giddy as their team has finally started playing well towards the end of the season. Another heartbreaking playoff loss coming right up. :-)

^ lol. Who cares? Caps are one of four (five if you root DC United) professional sports franchises based out of Washington DC. I am twenty one, have witnessed limited success with my beloved teams, but I will always continue to root for DC and the home teams, like plenty others around here. It's pride in where you come from, how you were raised and loyalty stretching back through childhood. And if we never see a title come to town (which is highly unlikely, and us loyal fans are confident and optimistic), who cares? It's just sports at the end of the day. Obviously there are far more substantial things to worry about and be concerned with. Sport is entertainment, recreation. Just allows us to continue living with and embracing our competitive drive. Storen is a choker in critical games. They need to get rid of him. Everyone else can stay.

No need to worry about the relievers today. Can RGIII play third base? Can Ovenchikin pitch? Can Holtby be a relief pitcher?

Who cares? Watch the Orioles.

Yes, they essentially traded Morse for Span, except that they gave up a more promising pitcher for Span. Rizzo was brilliant for drafting Strasburg and Harper, wasn't he? What a tool.

Laroche has an awesome glove at first base. Morse can outhit Laroche, but the Nats needed a golden glove 1st baseman more than another slugger. Zimmerman's hurt and it's showing. He needs to get that damn shoulder fixed once and for all. The Nats mid relief sucks. Clippard has useless if he doesn't have his slider. And the closers suck too. Nats are good, but not great. Still have a few missing pieces.

Exactly this having Morse would have been a disaster. Its not a coincidence that their infield started looking really good defensively when LaRoach showed up.

Moorse also already broke his hand before the other guy posted they should have kept him instead. He may have 6 homeruns but hes going to have 0 at bats for a few weeks.

It is looking great now. 3 errors by Zimmerman and 4 by Desmond in 11 games. Just imagine how many there would be if not for Laroche.

At least the O's are playing good... Yankees vs O's on sunday night baseballl tonight.

No he didnt but if you think hes going to be an elite power hitter when the pinkie between his two hands is broken not a chance. Unless he has some abnormal pain tolerance hell be out a couple weeks or hitting like hes out of the game anyway

At least two of those had nothing to do with Laroche on throws to second, but yes the left side of their infield is very erratic with their throws. Desmond does a lot of things well, throwing with great accuracy isnt one of them.

You guys have made Laroche out to be a great first base man. His fielding is average and his hitting is horrible. He is the biggest disgrace on the Nats and I hope he has some sort of injury to get him off the team. I hate his guts.

His picking ability isnt average. His hitting is fine, anyone willing to write a player off in the first 14ish games of the season doesnt watch baseball. Especially a guy with a track record. Hes not price fielder at the plate but he does everything well

Dan Haren has not given up an earned run so far tonight. Unfortunately, he has given up 4 unearned runs after another E5 by RZ. At least the Capitals are winning easily again.

At least the Nationals' farm system has been producing talent. Tom Milone is 3-0 and Derek Norris is hitting .417 for Oakland. Brad Peacock is 1-1 for Houston.
