At 2:15 in the morning on Sunday, August 17, officers responded to the area of Federation Way and Singleton’s Way in Centreville. They discovered four to five men allegedly vandalized a car in the 13000 block of Winding Ridge Lane. Several people came out of the house to scare the vandals away. A fight ensued and a 39-year-old woman and 34-year-old man from the home were struck with BBs fired from a BB gun; the woman was additionally struck with a machete. These injuries were non life-threatening. Several others received minor injuries in the altercation.
Officers and detectives made several arrests. Luis Jonathan Merino, 21, of 14141 Honey Hill Court and Josue Ernersto Palacios, 23, of 14145 Honey Hill Court were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with malicious wounding by mob and gang participation. Two male juveniles, both 17, were returned home. Additional charges are pending.
