Tunnel

Did anyone else hear the news yesterday about a tunnel from Mexico to California? Someone told me about it so I didn't see the news first hand. Kudos to the ingenuity of those desperate enough to get here.

I caught that on the news yesterday. Apparently they found a couple TONS of weed in there too. Not only were people getting here, they were bringing their own refreshments! It supposedly popped up under a warehouse somewhere near San Diego. They said it was the longest tunnel under the border they'd ever found ... pretty wild.

good stuff. I found the article. Apparently there's a tunnel task force to go around looking for holes in the ground now. I'm actually impressed by the resourcefulness.

I saw an America's Most Wanted ten or fifteen years ago that featured a tunnel that started in a warehouse in mexico, and ended across the border, underneath a pool table that was able to rise up via a hidden switch. You would climb into the hole under the pool table to get access to the tunnel.

I understand it started in Mexico and ended in Herndon.

You're thinking about the Pan American - Herndon Tunnel, which starts in Guatemala, and is exclusively for human trafficing.

Hahah there's tons of these tunnels on both borders. They're not used primarly for human smuggling but for drugs. They discover one every couple of years. It's like that line from the movie Traffic. "And how many resources do the drug smugglers have? Well, limitless." Mexi cartels now hire ex-special forces guys from pan america and even the old eastern block to do their dirty work now.

they should leave the tunnels open and just have some sort of trap that would seal them in until they eventually die. then again, landmines in there sounds cool too. dont bother cleaning up the bodies either, why would you want to?

They should just stick a subway car in it. The Mexicans just doubled the size of the LA Subway system.

And if they made the Mexicans pay to ride the subway into L.A., they'd finally be contributing towards the economy!
