If you're looking to drink in a real crowded, smoky bar for prices that will make your hair stand on end, you'll love it.

The food's pretty good though.

warning: it's been years since I've been in there, so it may have changed (I doubt it)


I used to hear stories about alot of drugs moving thru that place and rumors that the place was mobbed up. Anyone else ever hear that?

I've heard some good and not so good things about this place; I've never been, but would like to check it out tonight. I am a smoker, so the "smokiness" of the place won't bother me. Also heard it's sort of a "meat market" (which is not necessarily a bad thing in my book). Anybody who has been there....could you give me a better idea of the place? In terms of the atmosphere (is it a bunch of pretentious people? or down to earth crowd? as opposed to Coastal Flats, which I think is a bunch of pseudo-new $$$ people). Any advice would be great! I'm willing to take the good and the bad......

Yeah, I'm not a pretentious person, i.e. I like Coastal Flats (bartenders and drinks are good) but too many people seem to be superficial and shallow. It's like all they care about is what kind of car you drive, what you do, how much $$ you make, etc. Just want a more relaxed sort of crowd, you know?

If you decide to sit in the restaurant section vs. the bar....ask for Helmut's (sp?) tables. He is a waiter that has been there for years.

The food is good and Helmut is a great waiter.

Well, I finally went there, during happy hour (around 4pm on a weekday). I actually thought it was decent; hell, can't complain about $3 Bloody Mary's. But I did notice the "hosts" as soon as I walked in....both looking sort of like guido's with suits and slicked back hair! But they were nice enough; and I looked at both the bar menu and dinner menu. Dinner a bit expensive, but the bar menu had smaller portions of some dinner items for cheap cheap (under $10). So, I've concluded I will go there again, plus the outdoor seating area is nice. I'll make sure to eat in Helmut's section. Thanks.

lemme know whenever you're up there. i personally know one of the managers, 2 bartenders, and most of the waitresses. it's a great place to go to if you know the right people. if there was any mafia/drug dealing connections then it must have been a long time ago 'cause every1 i know that works there have no connections with that kind of shit

They do have a web site and they posted the menu specials for this weekend. I think I am going to try that one that is $28 tomorrow. The manager is really nice.
