Don't use this company.
The people doing the work are great, but the sole owner is a cheap you know what.
Once he has the contract he feels he can change the terms on you. And he actually stops his workers from doing the work the right way because it will take too much 'metallic-tape'.... a few dollars more on a $6500 job. Very cheap.

File a compaint with Fairfax County Consumer Protection Division. They can suspend the biz license or go after those folks to make you whole again.

They actually prosecuted Best Buy for consumer fraud and failure to honor warranty when I had issues.

Any reputable company these days uses mastic to seal the joints, metallic and "DUCT" tape are passe'.

Bullshit. Mastic is being used in the so called "energy star" homes so lots of clueless contractors are using it on everything. Mastic really makes a mess if you ever need to modify the ductwork and provides zero benefit if the ductwork is inside the conditioned space.
Contractors who slap mastic on indoor ductwork are generally clueless hacks.

Duct Tape holds America together

Duct Tape is America. So many applications for this amazing product. Just last week I applied the tape to my children who wre being obnoxious during Xmas.
Then the wife started screaming. Used the tape again. And finally the mother in law shouted her misgivings about coming so I taped her up. Finally peace on earth.
The damn furnace cycled on and I remembered why I bought Duct Tape.
Make sure you always have the tape available for emergencies.

Duct tape is great----for everything EXCEPT ducts.
The stuff deteriorates over time. Metallic tape lasts forever. I lucked out when I had my furnace replaced. They forgot a brand new roll of metal tape on a shelf near the furnace.
