You're kidding, right?

That makes as much sense as selling bananas in a plastic wrapper.

But I suppose as consumer-minded as most people are, it would make sense that someone is trying to make a buck selling a bag to dispose of a tree.

Bring it to the transfer station as yard waste - its free and they will mulch it for you so long as you remove all the tinsel (btw dont use tinsel).

Thanks for the help... probably didn't explain it right.

Actually, I am just looking for a way to get the tree out the door without dropping a few hundred needles all over the house. In years past we bought a plastic bag that sat underneath the tree, then we just pulled up the bag and that made taking out of the house a lot easier.

Didn't know if someone around here sells them this year. It's basically an oversize trash bag.

Or just vacuum the trail of pine needles after taking the tree out.

If it's really that big of a deal, just wrap an old bedsheet around it before moving it.

This honestly sounds like a need that was created by someone selling a product without a need.

Go to Home Depot, buy a 6x8 tarp and use it to carry your tree out if you're too lazy to vacuum the needles. As an added bonus you can use the tarp for other things the rest of the year. Amazing!

Don't move the tree. Make it a statement how Christmas is in your heart all year.

So........... Has anyone ever seen the kind of tree disposal bag that I am looking for?

I just need a large plastic bag that can wrap around the tree for removal. I think they cost about 2 bucks. (what a ripoff!)

I was hoping that at least one other person in Fairfax knew where they are sold.

BTW, I don't own a vacuum cleaner because those are only sold by greedy capitalists who are trying to make a buck off of suckers.

thanks for the help...

@OP - I'd figure Merrifield Garden, Meadows Garden, or Garden World should have what you are looking for.................

You are not crazy. These things do actually exist. They are not a figment of your imagination. I have used them before. But this is just a lot of useless drivel as I have no idea where to get one NOW.

Might I suggest that that you NOT vacuum up errant needles from your Christmas Tree? Most household vacuums' motors will be jammed/burned out with too many needles. A Shop Vac would be ok, but not your regular Hoover-type.

Yes, I know about the Christmas Tree bag - if I recall correctly, ideally you'd put it over your tree stand, then insert the tree into the stand and the bag stays puddled/gathered at the base of the stand. When you are ready to remove your tree, you'd just pull the tree bag around and up - then you could knot the top and drag it down to the trash. I used to leave the tree wrapped in the bag, but for years AAA (and probably other companies) have stated that the tree must be unwrapped and bare.

You could just stop killing trees in the first place.

Trees were meant to be planted by polluters to pay for their sins. Cutting them down and decorating them in your living room defeats the whole purpose.

gosh.

Dave, I have been looking for one as well with no luck. I'm originally from New York and they have tree bags at every store you go to...so unlike some commenters, it's much more common than they may think. Also, if you live in a condo, you aren't going to tote your vacuum throughout the whole building as you're getting rid of your tree...duh.

Not sure about Fairfax, but Bill's True Value in Arlington usually has them.

Fuck it; I just burn the tree. Keeps the living room warm for about 30 minutes.

Did you try inserting the tree right up your ass?
