Cheap vet for dog spaying

Anyone know a cheap vet to get my dog spayed in the Springfield/Burke area and an approximate cost?

Try going through Spay Incorporated. They give you a "confirmation" number with a vet in your area (one they have a relationship with). We've easily saved 50% on our dogs and cat. It'll still run you 200+, depending on size of the dog.

I, too, used Spay Inc - it was 16 years ago, though. I called the number, left a message with my contact info, and got a call back with the name of a participating vet office where I could take my cat. I don't remember the cost, but I remember it was at least a 50% discount.

Not close but we take our dogs to Shenandoah spay/neuter clinc in Harrisionburg. Its a 2 hour drive but it only costs 75.00 for males and 85.00 for females. Rabies shots are 10.00.

$35, you have to drive to lorton for the instruments (suture, needle, and gauze included). They can also ship to you for $6 in addition. After, you have to buy benadryl $2 (sedation), its a high dose, the video will show you how to dose. Finally, you go watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scxfdiruTTw and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMdlSV-epXQ. * cant find the dosing video but its about 25mg per every 15lbs, high dose because they need to be really out. Total cost of this is about $37 - $40, not bad if your on a budget. Also you can use the instruments again on a friend or neighbors pet.

Why not? I circumsized my old man, RH, and he survived. How much harder to spay a dog? Maybe for practice I'll try neutering some of the ex-WNC'ers who are hanging out here now.
