I am attending Woodson High School. Last year the only class I failed was English 9. Right now I am getting an C+ in English. and my other classes I have a 3.0. Will I need to attend nova since I got an F in English my freshman year of High school?

Was that a final grade? If so, you need to retake the class. Your "F" will be removed from the record and replaced with a better mark. Not sure if you're in "Honors" (what we used to call Pre-IB or Pre-AP) or regular (as in English 9). Provided you make up the class... and improve your GPA, you should be fine. Radford is an option for a lot of people, so is WVU. Neither are good colleges, but they're better than NOVA.

a 3.0 will not get into radford or any other va public university.

Actually the previous poster is incorrect. The F will not be removed from your record. If you retake the course, the new grade will show up on your transcript but it does not erase the old one. Just keep working hard and trying to improve your GPA. Colleges like to see an upward trend.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. The average GPA at Radford is a 3.0 and a poor SAT score. And, with FCPS adjustment, having a 3.0 is like having a 2.5.

it depends on what hs you are applying from.

the economy has changed the game a little also. 3 years ago, when the fire was hot, it took a 3.6 on the old scale to get into radford.

so, clearly you do not know what you are talking about.

There are plenty of Virginia colleges that you will get into, ODU, Radford, VCU, Ferrum, Longwood, Christopher Newport, I'm sure I'm forgetting several. Don't stress, you're gonna be fine!

You got it made man. In 1989 I got in to Longwood with a 2.2. Got a four year degree in like 8 years and now I have an easy-gravy do nothing job with the state of Virginia. Just dont get a job where you are trapped in an office all day, that sucks! Take a hard look at the dept of emergency management.

Well you sure the fuck aren't getting into VA Tech, UVA or William and Mary. College is not for everyone. Maybe you should practice "would you like fries with that order?"

Ask your guidance counselor how you get access to Family Connections aka Naviance. Naviance allows you see plots of GPA/SATs by college acceptance for every applicant from your high school.

For privacy reasons for colleges with small numbers of applicants from your HS, many colleges can't be displayed, but the ones mentioned in this list should all be available to you. If you are interested in any college can't be displayed to you, you can ask your guidance counselor to pull up the statistics for FCPS-wide results.

I'm sure there are lots of kids at Tech who had less than 3.0s in high school. Tech' acceptance rate last year was 67% compared to Radford's 71. Now JMU, GMU, CNU are a different story, they are much harder to get into then Tech.

You just need a 3.0, over 1200 SAT n over 17 in your ACT to get into alot of colleges. However you know that you need way higher for schools like UVA, William and Mary, VT, Gmu, JMU
