A quick follow-up through the commonwealth's General District court records for inactive cases reveals that this was dismissed (case number GC06011592-00). I don't know if there is any substantiation of the alleged victim being a student. And some posters here, frankly, need a psychologist.

I checked out the full story. In fact, Richard Amernick was looking for his house key in the bushes, after he dropped it while walking his dog. Somebody saw him rummaging through the bushes and called the cops. By coincidence, he was walking past the house of one of his students (which he did not know at the time). The police officer investigating the case put 2+2 together and got 5, despite Amernick's explanation, and Amernick was arrested. When the case went to court, the charges were dropped and the arrest record was expunged.

Amernick has requested that this page be deleted. It is not necessary to comment further on this matter.

Mr. Amernick was not aware that a neighbor called the police. He simply continued walking his dog after he found his keys. In well-lit neighborhoods such as Lincoln Way in the Tysons Corner area, a heavily-populated area, people do not carry a flashlight when they walk their dogs. Mr. Amernick was in the condo development where he lives. He couldn't go home to get a flashlight because he was looking for his house keys.

By the way, he was not observed near a window. He was observed searching under a bush.

Are you sure it wasn't Dr. Paul Oliver who is now in Loudon County. He was moved from school to school before finally leaving Carson and FCPS!

Actually had Prof. Amernick for psychology 100 at George Mason. I would have never expected him to be peeping on teens. Maybe he changed a lot in 7 years.
