What is with the random sections of lanes on 66 being a different color?

outside lanes outside the beltway in both directions have intermittent stretches of a reddish color. These just popped up in the past 2 months or so. What's the purpose?

Welcome to August. Can we expect to hear from you in three months asking about how we fared during the hurricane?

Don't even think about driving in those lanes!

They are meant for the spics and anyone else illegally in the country with no Green cards so they may feel welcome while driving with no driver's license or insurance in an unregistered automobile.

I haven't noticed HOV lanes being a different color, but I have noticed that temporary lanes have been resurfaced with a different color. The X lanes. Since so many people can't figure out what the red X means, and continue to drive in those lanes even when they're restricted, the new surface encourages them to move over into the regular lanes.

The green lanes you might see on roads are existing bike lanes, and the governments (several localities do this) paint bike lanes in areas where lots of traffic will cross the bike lanes, like where a right turn lane appears and traffic has to cross the bike lane.

The colored lanes are for gays, feel free to use them.

Colored lanes? And here I'm dead and can't enjoy seeing that. I don't remember my laws creating colored water fountains, bathrooms, and restaurant seating being for gays.

Trouble is, it's not working.

Every self-important person driving a BMW or Benz flicks their left turn signal on, and cruises down the red X lane thinking they are fooling someone. I even saw a regional FFX bus doing it with "not in service" on the sign.

Hilarity ensues when the state police are patrolling for these birth control poster children.

Thanks for the reminder to call the state police barracks and ask if they would step up enforcement.
