How'd They Figure this Out?

I just got an E-mail from LinkedIn asking me to join the US Navy Electronics Technicians group, which I found strange because while I've got a profile on LinkedIn, it's seriously incomplete as far as my employment history goes, and it doesn't mention my Navy service at all.

My question is, how did LinkedIn figure out I was in the Navy, or was it just a lucky guess?

Connections will do that for you.

Also, if you have surfed other people's profiles you get included in that set of "interests" as well.
