After the Liberals played games for so many years and then finally Obama released a FAKE copy of his birth certificate - the Liberals now want to pull some dirt on Romney? I say eff 'em. Romney wasn't born in Mexico. He doesn't have to show his birth certificate. Get over it !!!!

No you do not have to be born "in" the United States
You have to be a citizen, if one or both of the parents is a citizen then the baby is a citizen, born within the borders of the US, on its territories or Military establishments.

You went too far - a baby is a citizen if born to a citizen; that baby can be born anywhere, not just on "US territory" in some foreign land. A baby PROVES it's a citizen by using a birth certificate AND by using the State Department issued "Citizen born abroad" certificate.
BTW - if you want to renew your Social Security card - or just get one because you misplaced yours - you have to PROVE your citizenship to the Social Security office. That was fun for me - I couldn't find my SS card so I thought I'd just bop on over to the SS admin and get another - Noooooooo - I took my birth certificate and they said "Oh, that's nice - where's your "Born abroad" certificate?". I said "Uh..that's a US Army hospital and both my parents were US citizens their entire lives and I =already= have a SS number I just want to get a replacement card". They said "So?". That was that - had to leave and come back the next day with BOTH certificates.
