Hey dumbnut,

It obviously was a mechanical issue if it took the fire crews to manually open them.

The damages will be in the hundreds of millions. The cars alone will hit the millions mark. They will have to replace every freezer, wire, stove, computer, drywall, barstool, and on and on and on in several restaurants stores and businesses. Super Expensive. Im willing to bet that between the restaurants there is a couple hundred thousand dollars in lost fillet, lobster, crabs, other food and booze. They are going to have to replace sub-flooring, flooring, all appliances.

I can assure you that there will indeed be lawsuits flying, regardless of human error or mechanical failure. Whats interesting is how little information is being released about the floodgates.

Not to mention the staff of bartenders and cocktail waitresses that were literally days away from their money making season. Bartenders up there will be out $2000 a week till it opens.

A buddy of mine told me T&J wants to be open outside this weekend. Now I might eat these words but Im saying "No Fucking Way"

According to a ABC7 report, the worker who was supposed to raise the walls did not do it correctly. Whoops!

They probably had to raise the walls manually because the power was off due to the flooding.

Also, the gates were opened on March 12th and worked just fine. An educated guess says that his is good ol human error.

The floodgates were intentionally left open. After Congress cut DC funding and had Mayor Gray arrested, the City Government decided to teach Congress a lesson. Now the congressional staffers will have to go to Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle to hang out and drink, until the DC Govt figures out how to flood those places as well!

Hmmm... Not admitting to anything, BUT, we are all meeting on our boats at 3 sisters Islands to discuss this very issue. Friday. 5:00 PM SHARP.

My community is in an uproar about this. One of my bloody mary drinking buddies took a dive off the key bridge, just last night... he washed up in old towne Alexandria and realized 2 things.

1)The Key bridge is not tall enough to kill yourself from.
2) all will be okay because there are 2 BRAND new rooftop bars in Clarendon this spring!

It's ok from ages 22 - 26. Then it becomes boring without any real substance.
