Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Channel 4 said we could see some snow this coming weekend. I didn't catch how much. I hope it isn't too much. I like a light snow, but I can't drive in it. I also have a lot of stuff to do. Old Man Winter sure has come early this Season.
There's a chance for snow both this Thursday, and the approaching weekend. The Thursday storm could produce upwards of three inches, but it's definitely appearing the more feeble of the two systems. On Sunday, the storm could produce six inches or more, but it's anyone's guess at this point.

Northern VA native. Truthfully, I do love the different seasons and am sure I'd miss them if I lived elsewhere, but the older I get the cold seems to have bit more bite than I recall in the past. A huge beach lover here and would just love the warmth to hang around a bit longer. :-D

Im a Northern Virginia native too and I hate long winters. But I can say that we should feel lucky compared to some parts of the country. I was some place in Upstate New York where they had snow on the ground and it was April. Thats just crazy. But I know that some winters here are very mild, and others are very cold.
But my friend from New England thinks its funny when we call something 2-4 inches a 'snow storm".

Seriously..i grew up in New England. I remember digging tunnels through the snow.
Today where i live people were freaking out. You could not find a parking space at the grocery store.
