(btw the page is news - has only pictures and text, and some nasty google ads. it has buttons but the original MOSAIC PROTOCOL was to get text first display it, fill in images. java came later, it was hacked in, it should be like images - specify where it will draw and fill in only after text. then there was enhanced markup language MADE BY CHINA - WHICH CAUSED WEB PAGES TO BE UN-PRINTABLE AND RENDERED FAR MORE SLOWLY css style sheets. big tech threw that in why? bill clinton.) next came "parsing support" by microsoft in version 6.

NOW - SUN MICRO / ORACLE BASED THEIR OS CONFIGURATION ON WEB PAGES. BUT TO DO THAT YOUR WEB BROWSER MUST OBEY STANDARDS.
BUT AS YOU SEE - THEY KEEP BREAKING STANDARDS AND THEN MAKING NEW STANDARDS
So, what seemed like an ok idea to Sun in 1990's is now a wreck: a modern web browser might kill a server expecting a "standards based browser to be acting".
(no doubt oracle had at least some hours of work fixing the damage so they're web management would not be destroyed by new "standards don't care got a new library" hackers. any bets?)
