A 32-year-old man is accused of stabbing his parents in a fit of rage after they returned home and didn’t bring him any fast food.
Deputies in the New Orleans suburb of Jefferson Parish said in a press release that Ronald Pritchett, of Purvis, Miss., became enraged Wednesday night during a food argument, armed himself with a knife and went upstairs to confront his parents.
When Pritchett got upstairs to his parents’ bedroom and found that the door was locked, he kicked it open and began stabbing his mother and father, according to authorities.
The suspect’s 58-year-old father was transported to Ochsner Hospital Westbank with stab wounds to the chest. He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Pritchett’s mother was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After the attack, Pritchett stole his father’s tan-colored 1997 Chevrolet Suburban and fled the scene.
He was arrested Thursday at a relative’s home after a brief standoff with authorities.
Pritchett is being held without bond at Lamar County Jail, according to jail records.
