Tape/DVD Recorder/Player for DTV Recommendation

My old Panasonic Combo is on it's last legs and needs to be replaced. I don't want anything fancy - just something that can be programmed to record some local programming and play my tapes and DVDs.

My TV has been upgraded to receive digital over-the-air with an antenna that I think will work nicely.

QUESTION: Does the Combo need to have a digital tuner as well, or will it feed through from the TV?

Any recommendations?
