EXACTLY! Here's your proof, as I quote myself from the Angus King thread:

However, this is not about the jobs you think are affected guys...don't you read and understand the situation? Why do you all think that gas is so cheap right now? It's because the Saudi-led OPEC is driving oil to the $70 per barrel mark. They are doing this literally to thin out the competition, and for projects like Keystone and fracking in the US to lose steam. Those topics lose steam when gas prices are on the cheap...they gain steam when gas prices are high. OPEC realizes this, and so the kill the price per barrel of oil to make their potential competitors go away. As soon as their competition stabilizes to where they want it to be, we'll all be paying $4.50 for gas again:
