I was in Nam when my unit made the transision from M-14 to M-16. Never did like the M-16 because it felt like a toy and the 7.62mm round has a Hell of a lot more wallop. Another thing that drove me up a wall with the M-16 was it's total unsuitability for bayonet fighting. Gimme some weight please! I usually differentiate on the .223 and 5.56X because one of my rifles is a Ruger Mini-14 and on some models they're not always interchangeable.
