Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Oh, good, generic burgers, wings, pretzels, and other "American fare." Sure can't get that anywhere else. Glad someone finally filled that market niche.

From their site --
"FANFARE Eatery is a sports-themed restaurant brought to you by the founders of Glory Days Grill. Featuring many of Glory Days Grill’s most popular items including burgers and wings, FANFARE Eatery combines the nostalgia of a vintage stadium concession with modern conveniences such as digital menu boards, 100% LED lighting and a self service kiosk."
I had lunch there today it was pretty good a little salty but better the glory days. service was quick and the cashiers were very friendly. they have lots of tvs and it has a cool theme. I would recommend it.
Agree 100% on the salt.. Went there today for lunch.. Prices were okay, A single cheeseburger, Kids Mac & Cheese, Hot Dog, Onion Rings and 2 sodas was $22 but the food was quite salty. I also felt a bit claustrophobic it is extremely tight.. They really could use a normal soda machine or another one of the fancy ones because it takes people way too long to figure it out... I think I would just spend the extra few bucks and have a sit down at glory holes next time...
was very good great burger but when i asked a manager a question he was very rude and treated me like I knew nothing about food. never the less I will be a regular
Went there on Sunday. Got wings and fries, both were pretty good. Good tv's, lots of outside seating.
The downside is the place is very small and doesnt have a bar. Seems like a risky/stupid idea to have a sports restaurant that doesnt have a bar. I guess if they're just trying to attract families it could work. Also considering it was opening weekend, there were only 6 people eating during the 4pm NFL games, not a good crowd. There were prob 10 employees just standing around with nothing to do. You order before you sit down, doesnt even seem to be a need for waitresses.

When I was waiting for my order, I looked into the kitchen and noticed this too. Not sure if there are a ton of people due to training and/or opening weekend, but if it's normal staffing.... way too many people working there. Looked like you could barely move back there.
Agree with the waitress/waiter comment. No reason why it can't be like Five Guys where they call a number and you come and get it.
Ordering is also a little awkward, too. I walked in knowing what I wanted. When I walked up to the cashier and stated my order, it's like I blew his mind and compromised the whole system. He had to step back, ask for my name, ask if it was for here or to go, THEN asked what I wanted, then confirmed. Just take my order.
I work in Fairfax Corner, based on the location alone I don't expect it to stay there for very long. Putting Ozzies and Fanfare in the back corner of a very busy plaza does not seem like smart planning to me.
hey guys I'm a cashier and I'd like to clear some things up. right now only people in red yellow or black shirts are actually employees the rest of them are trainers and they should be gone in about a week. and once we get into the normal routine we won't bring out food unless we have more then 3 cashiers which will only be on the weekends or busy periods. and I know it's annoying but we have to ask for a name and if it's for here or to go before we even get to the screen that has food on it. but keep giving us feedback we are a brand new concept and are looking to improve any way we can.

Not sure what you mean by Ozzies? It isn't the back corner. Ozzies is up front and center. Yes, Fanfare is a little tucked away.

If you're looking for honest feedback...
I thought that most people in there are trainers and would probably be gone soon, so that should cut down on the amount of people in the kitchen and behind the counter.
However, that cashier process needs to be adjusted. Who would allow that kind of logic to be introduced into the system like that? You can't even press buttons to put an order in until a name and for here/to go is pressed? The hell? I've never heard of that. Going further, you should consider dropping the name requirement. I noticed my receipt has an order number on it and you were also handing out little red things with a number on it. Why do you need a name?
I think this is a great addition to fairfax corner and I didnt think there was anything wrong with the order process. Id rather them get my order accurate and to me in a timely matter then have the process more streamlined. The only problem I have is the extra charge for celery and dressing for wings. Other then that yummy yummy

I actually am glad they do that, assuming it's saving me money. I never eat the celery or use dressing when I get wings. They can keep it.
I dont know how anyone could complain about their pricing I think that it is about as cheap as it could be to afford being at fairfax corner. We got 12 wings a burger and 2 drinks for under 20 bucks. Thats a good deal for me plus the food was awesome.
WE went there and got a bruger and wing and the food was great. I do not mine giving my name to me it is more personal and I do not have to think about a number. I find it a great change to the larger sit down place at the corner and a place to grab food before a movie.

Ozzies and Fanfare share the same building, which is in the back corner of the shopping center.
