Re: more Clinton era scandals: road signs were Corrupt as hillary could be, and laws had to be made
(not counting washington area 495, which costed a ton of money in signage and caused drivers massive confusion - residents claim contractors did it on purpose and infact they were paid a 2nd time to install all new signs - and DC changing signs "because they wanted Win10 fonts")
LATE 80'S 90'S: when you were on the highway you'd see gas station signs and get off at the exit for gas
commercial exit / traveler stops / rest stops / gas&go exits / respite sign /
hospitality sign
(probably hospitality sign if your traveling on vacation. funny thing is 123984 gov agencies no longer know what they're called except "blue")
THERE IS A RUMORMILL, probably by democrats, that Pres. Lindon Johnson made a law about these. THAT'S NOT TRUE - a total fabricatoin. They were rare in many places well into the 2000's.
SO BEFORE THESE (which moslty appeared in late 1990's 2000's) YOU'D SEE A SHELL OIL SIGN, get off
your low on fuel. you see the eats and after you eat you ask were the gas station is you saw the sign for.
they'd say, aw, yea that sign we don't know - but there's a town 15 mi. that way that has a gas station
Now, if you travel through backwter USA in the dark: your likely to hit by a gigantic pothole, pulled over by a "ticket country cop" and hit up for money, perhaps even robbed. 15 mi? perhaps badly lost and out of fuel
(FOR STUPID MILLENIALS who never traveled: when you pull over for gas on some hundreds of mile run YOU NEED GAS, you can't afford 15 mi. local roads maybe. you "need a gas exit")
I can't even show you a photo of such a highway sign because THEY WERE REMOVED. They were small, kinda official looking and DECEPTIVE.
