CAN YOU STILL SEE THE OLD VIRGINIAN LOOK TO THE BUILDING? WHICH HAS HAD IT'S NAME CHANGED?
new management ... the "coasters" began coming in with new management destroyed the park. even had rules i *think* you couldn't go to your car to eat from a brown bag - they claimed it was "to preven vehicle break-ins" but we know it was just sheer greed.
If I remember. The theater used to have A VIRGINIAN Williamsburg like decor. The whole area was landscaped (including a floral walk-under) and virginian people dressed up as colonials harking the shows? It had shows back to back. It was all class and up-right: nothing woke. I may be confusing it slighly with Bush Gardens (too much farther from fairfax for most to do regularly) - but I'm pretty sure King's Dominion theater had harkers outside and certainly a large footprint (ie, large walk-under area covered with flowers on way to theater coming from one direction).
BEFORE IT BECAME PARAMOUNT - PARAMOUNT lessened the footprint of the Virginian theater, cut the flowers, and cut down showtimes also. (same with dolphins - first cut shows to 1x a day then eliminated)
Busch Gardens still has a class act - it's theme is "multi-culture" ( old france, old italy, old germany ... but not old virginia - which i think Dominion had - Dominion is one of the terms used to refer to Virginia)
